New X orders now will not ship until the 18th.. Yeah right

Another day gone by that Verizon has fibbed to me.

It's apparent that none of the Customer Service reps know when the X will ship. Everytime I call it's a different story.

The eBay auction for my Droid ends Wednesday I may be out of a phone for a while, totally bummed.

Got my shipping info today via *611. Order placed on the 8th, left FedEx facility on the today at 1:00 PM, and is in transit, expected delivery Thursday!
 
Called again today...same freaking story. Will ship by the 25th.

How many of you call daily? Tomorrow will mark 7 days after I ordered and paid for the X.
 
I've posted several times about my runaround with Big Red, here's the latest:

Ordered on the 8th, the rep told me it would ship in 2-3 days and I would have priority because my current Droid was a bit glitchy (since fixed kernal issue). He said "If you order today you'll have it by Thursday" I had no reason not to believe what he said, but Thursday came and went...no phone.

I called again on an unrelated issue asked that rep about my order status he said I'll have in on Friday the 13th. FedEx came and went so I called again on Saturday, this rep told me he had my order up on the screen, shipping the 15th to arrive the 16th. Once again FedEx truck came and went no phone.

I wasn't all that concerned initially, my D1 is running great, I needed time to get some accessories and such so no big deal. Now after being flat out lied to, I'm a bit PO'd.

I simply can't fathom why these reps can't just tell it like it is, if I had any of them here with me now, I'd consider throwing them a beating.
 
ordered aug 5th. no shipping info or anything. just called *611 at 10pm and spoke to a lovely(cute :icon_ banana: ) lady and she said it shipped on thursday and will be here first thing tomorrow morning. she also said that they are receiving alot of calls about shipping info on new phones, and that emails most of the time are not shipped out. it better be here tomorrow or i'm gonna go nuts
 
So my droid x came in and i just got home. I love it so far. I've always had problems typing on a touch screen but its like flawless on here. Good luck to the rest of you

DX is here. It was shipped from Fort Worth, Texas. I live in the Los Angelea area. I was told (repeatedly, in fact) that it would ship on 8/23. I did NOT received any shipping email notification. Luckily, I just happened to be on a day off today and at home when the FedEx truck rolled up this morning.

Did you order online or in the actual store? Cause I ordered mine online on 8/6 and haven't gotten an e-mail yet.
 
Ordered by phone, but... (There's a story to this all...)

Back in July, ordered DX online. $99 plus tax. Played with it for a few days, had earpiece vibration buzzing, and returned it to a VZW company store (per the instruction of the C.S. guy on the phone). At the store, they credited my account, with the caveat that if I ordered another DX, to do it BY PHONE, and not online, because the online system would not be able to read my account notes that detailed my credit reimbursement, etc.

Ambivalent about getting another DX, I reactivated my Blackberry 8330, which I felt more comfortable using, especially in a car, or when I need to do some quick messaging. It was more of a safety and convenience issue than anything else.

About two weeks later, I decided that the future of the Blackberry product line was bleak, having seen the BB Torch, etc. (I've been using BBs since 1999, before they were called Blackberries!)

So on August 5th, I ordered a new DX BY PHONE. It took two separate calls to get the credit reimbursement that the store manager gave me, but nevertheless, they promised a shipment date of August 23rd.

I phoned C.S. several times to inquire if the shipments might come early, as it has for other folks, but they were adamant about 8/23.

And then today (8/16), the FedEx guy shows up with the new DX. Go figure.
 
I think it's become clear that the customer service people at Verizon basically have no idea when phones will ship. I called VZW Global on the 7th to have my Storm 1 unlocked so I could use it overseas. I figured that if it's a useless piece of junk in the states, why not try it abroad? Anyway, the nice lady I talked to asked if I wanted to upgrade. I told her I was going to order a droid X once the back order was over. She told me if I ordered it today (8/7) it would arrive no later than Thursday (8/12). She also threw in a free car mount and HDMI cable, so I said sure. She even conferred with the manager (I could hear this in the background) about making sure it would arrive by 8/12. I'm sure the woman wasn't lying. Verizon just gave her bad info. When the 12th came and went, I called back and told not to expect it before the 25th. I was a bit PO'd but the customer service people have no idea what's going on. What I wanted was simply someone to notify me that the shipping was delayed instead of letting me twist in the wind. Still no email, phone, etc. I'll post up when I hear something new.

Moral of the story here is they really don't know. Unless they have a tracking number to give you, they have no idea.

The order shows as "processing pending shipment" right up until the point where they have a device to send to you. And who knows how they are choosing who to send devices to- could be by destination, could have something to do with the size of the account or how many years they have had Verizon, or it could truly be by order date. This is impossible to tell.

Anyway, good luck to all. I ordered 8/8 in store, and up until I finally got a tracking # from a CS rep via *611 yesterday (I wasn't going to ever receive an email), I was told it would ship out the 25th. My X is at the sort facility now. Could have it by today, could have it tomorrow.
