New X orders now will not ship until the 18th.. Yeah right

I ordered mine in store on August 10. They told me the phone would not ship until 8/25 but I got an email last night that said it has been shipped. It looks like I will be getting it on 8/25.

I don't understand why some people on this forum are getting pissed off that the customer service people can't help them. When you order the phone and they tell you it won't ship until a certain date, then you should leave them alone and not worry about the phone not shipping until after that date has passed.

I think it's more frustration that VZW is taking their money then not delivering the product in what they consider a timely fashion. They are taking the money at point of sale without delivery and that makes these people frustrated.

I ordered 5 of these phones on the 10th and still have ZERO confirmation. I am tracking it on this forum so people can see when I get it but in the interim I am WELL HAPPY with my HTC Topaz. It's an older phone but it is still a great little monster.

I don't see how you can be upset that they are "taking" your money and not giving you the phone on the spot. They tell you upfront that they don't have any in stock, they tell you that it won't be shipped until the 25th (or other date if ordered later), you then have the option of canceling the order if you think that is too long, but you can't get mad at them for a supply issue they can't control and are upfront about.

Now I am not saying people who have been told a date and still haven't gotten it by that date shouldn't be upset. Those people have every right. To the others, be patient your phone will come soon.

Not that I was actually "upset"... But it has become standard that sellers, both online and brick & mortar, do not charge you for an item until it SHIPS. This is standard practice for nearly all online sellers that I purchase from (Amazon, NewEgg, etc., etc.).

For VZW to hold money for a phone that they don't even have yet to send out, can be frustrating for some, it was for me.

i ordered 2 of these phones on the 8/12/10. i was told that they would be in the following week. that week has passed and still the phone has not even shipped. when i called they told me the phone would ship at the end of last week. now they try to tell me that the phone won't ship until the 30th. i was lied to and they have my money. i am pissed...
 
In regards to the weight, my phone was delivered last week with accessories, I had the Droid X, car charger, phone glove, and phone protector sheets, weighed 2.0 lbs and there was plenty of room in the box when I opened it, could of doubled what I had in there if they wanted to.

Well the thing is, I didn't order any accessories, just the phone lol
 
Awesome, just got my tracking number email (Ordered on the 17th in-store) FedEx says it will arrive on the 25th from West Chester, PA (I'm just north of Philly, PA).

wow.

I ordered mine in the store on the 17th as well and was told it will ship on the 31st and arrive on Sept 2nd.

What gives?

I was also told that I would not get an email notification since I ordered through the store vs. online.

Did they tell you this in the store or did you get an actual tracking number? They told me it would be shipped by the 30th when I ordered in the store, so it's coming earlier than they said.
 
dancedroidI ordered 2 on the 16th, got my tracking numbers today! Suppose to be here by the 25th, and I can't wait! My original ship date was 8/31. They are also coming out of West Chester, Pa.
 
What a crock. I read where someone here ordered online on 8/15 and got their shipping notification e-mail yesterday. I call VZW CS and was told my order would be shipped on 8/30 and that no notes were on my account otherwise. Two hours later I get my shipment notification e-mail that it'll be delivered to my office tomorrow by 3pm. I guess I fall into the 10-12 days though I see someone who ordered his on 8/17 got his notification today which looks like they just got another shipment to cover a weeks worth of orders in. Just hope I don't have any issues with it. I'll probably wait till my accessories arrive before activating it so as not to risk it getting a "scratch" on it. Hand me downing my D1 Droid to the wife.

One thing to note is where it says "Please note that tracking information may not be available immediately." So people should not be complaining that the FedEx tracking is broken as soon as they get the email.
 
I would just like an email with a tracking number... I live in Atlanta, GA and ordered on the 14th and haven't received a thing, yet my neighbor ordered the day after me and got her shipping email this afternoon that it will be here tomorrow.... UGH.... I am quite fed up with Verizon's shipping methods!!
