New X orders now will not ship until the 18th.. Yeah right

Ordered online 8/31/10, expected ship date 9/13/10. Am located in Boston, Massachusetts. When I check the order online with the order # it still shows no tracking info. I also notice it doesn't say it will ship on or before 9/13, but specifies that it will ship ON 9/13. I don't know how they could know the exact date of shipment 2 weeks in advance unless they are just holding inventory, which I doubt.

Can't wait for it to get here...

I received the Verizon email showing shipping info a few minutes ago but the order status website doesn't show that info reflected yet, so perhaps that doesn't get updated as it should.

Good luck all, apparently I'm getting it early and I live in the Northeast, so good news for anyone up here.

I'm in NYC. I ordered my Droid X online on 8/28, and I still haven't gotten notification that it's shipped... Do you know from what warehouse they're shipping it? Normally I don't get so crazy with anticipation but this is killing me. This phone better be worth it.

Maybe it depends on who you ordered it from. I ordered mine directly from VZW on the 30th and I am in Ohio. Am getting mine tomorrow. It is shipping from Memphis, TN. I would call Verizon if I were you.

I was, but it was over the weekend and holiday so ...

Got the (overnight) shipping notice on Friday 9/3 the shipment didn't arrive at the store til 3 PM yesterday 9/7

But I got it in my hot li'l hands now and there's no stopping me......well, except figuring out how to use all this power!

Just got my notification

I just got my notification that it's shipping out of West Chester, PA. That should have it arriving on 9/10, and that's what the system says, but that's close so I'm worried they'll try to deliver tomorrow, and I'll be out of town... I'm psyched but I just want this phone to be here already.

Ordered mine on the 5th which i know was a holiday. Supposed to ship by the 20th, but noticed today that Verizon charged my credit card. In asking Verizon about that the charge and they said that's what they do all the time and it's normal.

I didn't think they were allowed to charge until you items shipped.

they charged me on that day too, still stating it is going to ship on the 20th.

I went into VZW to get mine ordered on the 4th, the sales rep said mine will ship on the 17th, kind of odd how I checked the day before online and their site said it'd be shipped out on the 20th...

Hopefully we all get it before the stated ship date though

Hi guys. So I just signed up for droid forums only to vent. I ordered mine in store on the 30th and was told it would ship by the 13th like many others. I called vzw just to check and see and the guy told me mine wont ship till the 23rd. I see people who ordered even a day or two after I did get thier email conformations. Im torn I want to be mad at one point, but Im oh so jealous and happy for those of you that have it come in already. IM TRAPED IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION!!!!:icon_eek:

I wouldnt sweat it too much. The call center guys do not have a way to see when your order will be sent so instead of getting your hopes up they probably just gave the current "expected ship date" they would give to new orders. I did not get any email about mine shipping, but when I chekced my order online I got a page not available error until they had a tracking number. Just check there until you see your tracking number.

Just wanted to give an update to confirm for people that may be waiting that they're shipping these out early.

Ordered over the phone on 8/31, was told it would ship 9/14
Received email on Monday.
Phone should be here tomorrow, 9/9

So, earlier than expected. It's been a hell of a week, though

I'm excited. My wife is swinging by the FedEx facility to pick up our phones this evening. I told her what was going on, and she didn't want to wait. (We're both upgrading to Droid X's after a couple years with LG Voyagers.

So with all the negative shipping stories we have in this thread I thought I would post an update for my story that is actually positive.

Fedex tried to deliver to the billing address but no one was home, and even with a note the driver did not leave the package (they were gone for 30 min so I wasnt worried about it). This turned out to be lucky. Fedex got the shipping address change yesterday, and when the package got back to the facility they sent it on its way to my address. In 1 night they got it back to TN, then over to the sorting facility by me, and it is currently at my local facility and should be on the truck for delivery this morning.

I thought this was outstanding on the part of Fedex, to correct the location and get it in the right place by the next day. Of course if I call in the people there do not know squat about it and just say it takes 24 hours for the change to populate in the system, and the destination info is still set for the old address online, but if you look at the shipping history you can easily see that it is in the right place and ready to be in my hands today. Which is still a week earlier than it was supposed to ship in the first place.
