[Odin] Full EB01 Froyo leak, packaged ROMs w/root and new clockwork **UPDATED**2/11

does the 2.9.2 odin put you on voodoo automatically? I used cwm for the first time ever to flash gingerbread theme... it said voodoo lagfix cwm version... and it looked orange to me, thought it was supposed to be red? Everything worked fine, just want to make sure im not on voodoo

You have to flash and voodoo rom or a voodoo kernel. If you did 2.9.2nv that's non voodoo.

Ok thanks, but why is there a voodoo folder on my sd? I ran mount in terminal emulator, and didnt see the ext4. also when i was in cw to flash the theme, voodoo was one of the options there too, but i didnt select it.

It's from CWM, doesn't mean you have a voodoo kernel.

Tapout27, many thanks for your hard work on this. I have 4 Android based phones in my house and have been rooted since getting my first Android the Eris. My Fascinate is now running Froyo and I am very happy. Your directions were perfect. Thank you!

I have been using the EC10SC292x_DXC.tar for a few hours now and see a few changes I am really in love with such as the updated corporate email application. One thing I do not like or understand is why do some of my icons in the notification area like GMAIL and Messaging show up in black and white while others have color? Also is there a way to change the colors within the mail application?

I also noticed I no longer have the new GPS icon that is for emergency use? Is that update included within this image and the icon is just hidden? I hated that new icon but don't want to not be broadcasting the emergency beacon.

Again many thanks for your efforts and the continued support you have been giving. I made sure to read all 43 pages of posts in case someone else had already inquired about these items.
Regards,
Mark

I just need to say thank you to all who have spent the time to help us get the most of our phones. I got a fascinate because I was new to the smart phone game. The price was good. I was fairly happy with it, but it kept freezing up. I had read that Froyo would fix some things, and was disappointed to read that an update might not occur. Started to read through this forum, and learned how to root and the benefits.

My phone was much better. I was nervous at first about flashing Froyo, but decided to go ahead. Started with super clean 2.6 and life was better.

Went to 2.92 and life was even better. Decided to install voodoo, and life got much better with my phone. Still had some lagging issues, and the battery usage didn't seem good. Went to super Franken clean 2.9.2 and flashed a battery and lock rom. Wow! My bench mark is about double what a fascinate should be. Very little lag or lockups (actually only one in the past two days).

I guess want I want to tell everyone that has been thinking about doing this, to do it. I would root first. You will discover a whole new world of possibilities for your phone. Thanks to all the folks that have spent many hours putting this stuff together and helping us "noobs" out. Just in the last two weeks I have learned so much more about my phone and what it can do. Why be limited to what they tell you it can and can not do. Having the capabilities of flash is a great thing.

So, thank you and a hats off to all the devs on here. Thank you, thank you, thank you! There are a couple of you I know that have a support link. I will have to hunt these down so I can buy you a beer.

I followed the instructions and installed the update. For 2 days the phone worked beautifully and then all of a sudden I lost 3G network. I did some research and noticed that /etc/network (folder) does not exist so 'ifup -a' won't bring up any interface. Everything else seems ok except this. I tried re-flashing it again but that did not help either. Any suggestions?

If anybody can paste their /etc/network/interfaces file I can manually create it (if this is okay). Any other suggestions/tips certainly welcome.

JJ

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I don't know how to search for it without looking at each thread one by one. If I installed the EB16 rom, and then I wanted to install the EC10, can I just put the EC10 file into Odin and just run the process over again, or do I have to somehow uninstall the EB16? I apologize for how this sounds, I'm so new at this that I don't even know the correct lingo and terms.

You're thinking about kernels nor roms. You flash these in clockwork mod. There is a how to guide in this forum. Read it and try it. Flashing a kernel in clockwork mod is installing a zip file.

Im sorry, that last message wasn't clear. I have installed on my phone the EC16SC29_DXC.tar file. My battery life sucks. I want to try EC10SC292x_DXC.tar. Can I just go into ODIN and install the new file, or do I have to somehow erase the original EC16SC29 file?

Also, Is it better to flash new kernels with ODIN, or through rom manager? If its better through ODIN, do i even need rom manager?

Odin will wipe your phone. No need to do anything else.
I flash kernels in recovery. Rom Manager is pretty useless for us.

I just flashed sc 2.9.2 it fixed my gps issue from 2.9 but I still have one problem. My phone will not vibrate which is very frustrating because I always have it on vibrate only so I'm constantly missing calls and texts. Anyone else have this problem?
