well i for 1 am happy to see google moto verizon moving there (explict)and improving an already awsome device ...i cant wait to see all the lil things it may change ..or not...but after its all over and the dust settels if i aint content im stripping this (explict) down and rootiing downloading hacking (explict) it take it to the moon im gonna push the EXplict ... im out of this device till it bleeds red ...alright im stretching the truth ...but if i aint happy i have my other option ..wich is always nice to have

i like how there's 2 camps of people...those that couldn't give a rats 2.1 is coming out and even seem a bit angry about it and those that are happy it is...i'm guessing it's the non root users crashing the root user's party that's causing some of the posts.:icon_ devil:

To me it seems like there are three sides.

1. People who appreciate what VZW Google and Moto are doing to get this update out quickly and painlessly. (All Good)

2. People who have no idea what the update will include and complain for missing features that they don't even know are missing. (Lame)

3. People with rooted droids telling the people above that everything included or not included in the update is already available from the amazing hackers here on the forums. (I'm in this Category therefore Awesomesauce)

yes but the problem with rooting is there is always the chance of bricking your phone, this on the other hand won't

Out of curiosity, have there been any reports of anyone bricking their droid. I haven't personally seen any threads of people who bricked their phone. IMO the reward outweighs the minor risk.

I believe some people have bricked there droids, with all the websites out there that show you how to do it yes its kinda of hard to do but still can happen and it will void your warranty. I will root my droid once the warranty is up but until then i'll keep it stock, plus i don't need anything that root gives me

Seems like a perfectly fin outlook to me, my point is that the people complaining about missing features that they weren't promised when they bought the device should stop whining. If you want them so badly there are options and you shouldn't rely on Moto, VZW, or Google to give you something they are not obligated to give. Be grateful that they are working to give us everything they deem stable and in working condition.

This part im not sure about. I have tried the 2.1 apps and they all respond slow and create a bunch of FC's (happened to me anyway) the only 2.1 apps i can and do use is gallery, and music

I'm not sure what others are experiencing but I've had multitouch on browser and gallery and maps for a little while no and not once have i had force close. I've also had the 5 homescreens with no problems. I never bothered trying live wallpapers or the new app drawer though so I can't speak for those. I don't care too much about aesthetic changes especially with the smoked glass theme which blows anything by google out of the water.

I know because I saw the president of the company who makes flash SAY it will be mid year.

I'm sick of people being angry this doesnt include flash.

If you think you're getting flash soon *ADMIN EDIT*. Can I make it any more clear? Flash will not be coming to Droid phone for many months. It has NOTHING to do with Motorola, Google, or Verizon.[/quote]how do u know its not coming for months huh?

This post was edited by Miami....the above quote was way out of line. Also was very very wong....

I have multitouch maps and dolpin and xscope browser as well... The app drawer is one of the things that would not work well for me. Gallery as i said is working though. And i have not tried live wallpapers or have the desire too. But when i installed the 2.1 launcher.apk my phone went nuts and force closed everything

We are getting closer to mid year but adobe has kept this under wraps pretty well if you ask me 2.1 WILL NOT AND NEVER WILL have flash. But the only thing confirmed is it will be OTA who will send it out is unknown. The general consensus though is that Flash should be out by the end of march. 2.1 is expected tomm. but isn't an deffinate.

I've been using the 2.1 launcher and gallery since shortly after they were ported over, recently changed over to the updated multi-touch enabled gallery. Only time I have a force close issue is if I slide out the keyboard for updating face book or twitter from the home screen. Other then that, they've worked great.
