Good enough for me.

Nice to see that they don't even try to make the useless camera at least somewhat usable..

I find the camera works just fine. If Google and Motorola didn't release we would see more of the complaining about no update. So which is it you want :icon_eek:

If something is not in this release there is a very very good reason for it. Be happy the Droid is about to get it's second update in 3 months :)

Did you read my post? Do you know what voice dialing is? I said nothing about answering a call, did I? Try voice dialing with a bluetooth headset. Press the headset button and attempt to voice dial someone from your contact list. I cann't be done without touching the phone. Yes there is an app that allows you to use the camera button to accomplish something close to handsfree but that is not what I am talking about. By handsfree I mean without touching the phone. I am tired of having to reach for my phone everytime I want to make a call. We should be able to simpley leave our phone in our pocket, purse, holster or whatever, and make a call using a bluetooth device, be it the car system, headset or anything else.

I'm happy with the updates, believe me! I just find the camera's interface to be terrible! I came from a Samsung Omnia. Awesome camera and interface; I'm very spoiled because of it.

Turn the camera down to 3 megapixel. Its a lot faster. It works for cell phone pics. But if you want to take a good looking pic for a pc bump it up to 5MP

Not sure if i just saw this here but .... Google's Android 2.1: How It'll Change Your Phone - PCWorld

Maybe a little more reliable of a source?

I would love it if this were true, but the article is dated Jan 12th. Long before the OTA push that we are getting was tested, etc.

I don't know why they would create a specific version of Android 2.1 for the Droid though. That fragments the Android userbase, which you would think would be undesirable.

3MP is fine for PC and printing for most users. You can easily print a 3MP (2048x1536) image up to 7"x5" and have a very good looking print, especially given the quality of the printer that most people would use to print. At PC Screen resolution you are looking at something in the area of 20"x15" worth of data. Too many people are wowed by the Megapixel wars that go on with consumer cameras and phone cameras. My Droid camera works MUCH better for me shooting 3MP pics.

"stupid question time... Will the widgets and apps I have installed work with the update or will they need to be updated as well?"

I was wondering this as well; anybody know?

it would be the same as when we updated from 2.0 to 2.0.1. all that stuff should stay the same

My Droid already had 2.0.1 when I bought it, so I haven't been through an upgrade yet. Are you saying that all apps, etc. will remain in place? Or should I be preparing to back up everything before upgrading, then restore? Or reinstall all apps from scratch?

Thanks.
