OFFICIAL: 2.2/Froyo Issues and Support Thread [NON-ROOT]

Some apps will backup to SD, Although I did a wipe / factory reset, your data on the Sd are good, for example mobisle notes once reloaded found a backup for me on my SD, poof! Notes back.

Kewl on ADW, if I don't like the stock, will go back to ADW.

You all set then? You got it up and running?

Quick Easy Question..

Is there a update.zip for the froyo rom and can you overclock on it and can i, if i dont like it just update.zip back to BB??

Thanks

Hi Hook,

Yup, up and running, I also kinda breezed thru my market doing installs. Droid is warm to touch now, I had it working out.

Question, on the recovery I installed, I havent rooted, now that should mean that the kernel is running at 550? 600 max?

I figure it cant OC, as I'm not rooted, but if the kernel installed is not stock ... Just wanted to ask.

Also, have the Google maps issue, in market is shows an update avail, but will fail install. Current installed is same, and works. Since we're not rooted, was there a fix we can do, or we wait for another update to maps?

Oh great, just looking in my app tray, I have the ninja, I"M ROOTED.

Would that also mean they disabled OTA in that build?

For refreaher, my froyo was BS-20100606-2246

I have wiped everything like 6 times after i boot up everything is the same even all my apps, contacts, everything are still there. Am i rebooting 2.1 somehow?

It should not say "froyo" it should say 2.2. This is in the "about phone" under settings. If you "check for updates" it will say you "have the latest"

Is there any way to backup settings within your apps? I have a bill tracking app and I prefer not to have to re-enter all o my bills again LOL.

Don't iknow, Titanium Back up may do that for you. I know it restores my email addresses for K-9 email app.

Im having trouble with my froyo....like its melting....

Seriously though, It randomly restarts after being idle for a few minutes...anyone else having this problem or have ideas as to why?

Yes there is. Just look in the custom roms area.

Hmmm...can you elaborate on this? Does this mean you can theme this froyo?

WHich section of Custom roms is it in?

Ok....Go to the custom ROM's area here in the Forum. Look at the various Dev's threads and see what they have to offer.

Or, try going to the Active Topics tab and click on that and you can see a few of them.

How could you have rooted and not know it? Well, I don't know how that happened.

I have no idea how fast the Droid is running other then what I see in those Benchmarks you've seen in the Forum. I did mine and I can say substatially faster, but how fast? I don't know.

I took a kernel that would go to 700 Mhz. I think, it was the second lowest.

Does anyone know how a non rooted Droid can be clocked?

Not sure of which of the 20 Froyo threads I should have asked this but......

I have the leaked Rom with all the goodies updated, but when the real update comes in will it force the update over or does this Rom BLOCK the Update, and if not how can I ? I'd hate to loose root and everything.
Thanks
