Have you did a Power Off?
or
Have you removed the Battery?
(remove battery, While battery is removed, press and hold Power On button for 5 secs, then replace Battery and power on)

I've been having trouble with getting the camera to focus on close up shots. Also, in camera mode I can see this very faint pixel line going across the screen. Only in camera mode though. Weird

Did u put the cam in macro mode?

wifi and first droid

Droid X wifi issue?

Anyone have issues staying connected to wifi? I just switched from a Droid and I have 5 other smart phones in my home that connect to wifi all of the time. The Droid X will connect fine but will then stop sending and receiving data....It still THINKS it has a connection but it doesn't. "forgetting" the wifi settings and reconnecting are the only things that seem to work.

Anyone else seeing this issue?

Same problem here. Also seem to have exchange issues, I'm thinking they may be related

Yep, the 1st Droid had severe WiFi issues and now the 2nd generation continues the tradition... Very disappointing!

no wifi problems with first droid here.. never have had..

I am using LP and I like to set one of my home screens up for frequently called contacts. On my original Droid when I would do this the contacts Facebook picture came up. On the DX I get no picture with my contact. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to fix this? I really like having my friends FB picture, seems to help find them quickly.

Cannot remove account

Guys,

For some reason I ended up with an account in my accounts list that I cannot get rid of. It has a blank userid that's greyed out, a password field that IS editable but which doesn't do me any good, and nothing else. Whenever I click on Remove Account, nothing happens.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of this phantom account??

Thanks,

Jozef

Okay, sorry if there is not a thread for this yet but this is the 2nd day that my DX has shut down and restarted itself!!

What's the deal? I just had FM radio and just outta the blue it cuts off and I get the Motorola logo and just reboots..

Is there an app that's causing all this?

Anyone have problems with getting the DX connected via USB to a computer? I have to perform a hard reset while it is plugged in. Then it will recognize the device and allow me to change USB connection types.

1. Day after getting phone it froze, black screen buttons lit up, unable to turn off. Turns out it was a corrupt SD card (the one that came with the phone) they coudl nto even format it is 4 devices, gave me a new card.

2. When I try to change notifications they play a funny beep noise instead.

3. Not loud enough, have not heard it if not standing right at it.

4. Everyone I talk to says I sound like I am in a tunnel or using a horrible speaker phone.

5. Before I did my last hard reset my service was 70% of the time at one bar. Since my reset last night that seems to have improved.

6. The day after the update my phone randomly went back to all factory settings while still on. Nothing I loaded in the phone was there not even my activity such as recent calls. Turned off and on and would not come back. After about 30 min it randomly all appeared again.

7 After update : regular keyboard not responding, doubling the last word I wrote, freezing, and delete does not work, also using letters I was not even near to push. Phone not scrolling smoothly it kind jumps some, or it freezes and will not scroll at all. Internet sites ask me to log in multiple times b4 I get in. Will not update/refresh sites such as when I am deleting emails etc on internet not through phone messeging. I literally can't type at all.

8. Last night while plugged into the wall with the supplied charger it ran down to 0% got black bootloader screen. Waited a few hours and it was normal again.

9. This morning the computer would not recognize it, kept getting a motorla usb error. I unistalled all the drivers from the pc.

That is is so far!

10. I wanted to add on the internet/data issue. I reported this to verizon yesterday also but until last night it was tolerable. When I try to log on to sth on internet I would have to do it multiple times it woudl just take me back to the login screen. Now after yesterday I realize the data connection is not working. It is just refreshing the same page I was already on, this is why I have not been able to erase any emails when going through the browser. All yesterday I missed all emails and instant messeges...(the emails where through browser, I dont have them set up to notify I just log in). I was actually waiting for a relpy from someone, one that ever came...but she had respnded within 5 min. I refreshed many times and after logging in and out everytime never recieved the email. But I saw them all when I looked on the PC this morning. Also it does show I have a data connection, I can see the black arrows, the red progress bar on the browser goes, but the pages never refresh or go to the new page. Same thing with IMs not working just shows same ppl on and I miss IMs from new ppl. (made sure battery saver was not on etc)

11. My pics were stuck in gallery viewer thing and would not leave it even when I deleted them from sd card. They would not go away without a hard reset.

I did many hard resests, changed settings, tried usign the phone with everything off and no apps downloaded and still had the same issues. (Aside from the one time ones)

I could not get them to replace the phone after two weeks of calling and going into the store. I finally got a new one yesterday, it works like a dream but has dead camera pixels and the entire screen display (even not while in camera mode) is very dim compared to my first phone even with the brightness turned all the way up on both phones. Not terrible but makes the icons not look so good and does not give a true veiw of what a pics will look like.

Might hold out for another update idk, don't want a refurbised now after 200$ and only had it two weeks. Also afraid I will get anothe rbad one at least this one works even if camera is messed up and it is dark.

**Update-I have not had the issues I had with the first phone with any other Droid X. I have since had 3 other Droid Xs however as they have all had the "dead pixels" and also staticy lines in the camera/camcorder which appear in pictures also (only much bigger). Verizon has been very quick to replace these telling me that it is a known issue and not even bothering to make me hard reset the phones again. I have noticed from phone to phone the speed of each phone including during typing and each phones ability to correctly log what I am typing has been slightly different. (It was perfect on the second phone). My 3rd phone also would not connect to the internet reliably and I woudl get an error messege telling me my authentification failed. My fourth phone which I have had a matter of hours, force closes on the preloaded apps. And as I said all have had the camera issue which I really want fixed. I mean I dont expect to take SLR quality photos but I expect to not have colored dots and vertical fuzzy lines in the picture. I am waiting on my 5th.

Little dotted lines around the ap icon

I've only noticed one real issue and I'm still not sure what's causing it.

Sometime when I'm moving icons around on the screen, or replying/creating a text, the graphics on the screen get like dotted lines going across that look a little something like this -------.

I'm not sure if it's a screen issue or the hardware not being able to render the graphics fast enough. This seems to only happen when there's rapid movement on the screen.

Has anyone else noticed this?

This is a feature that allows you to resize the icon. Some can get small, and some stay too large. Grab a corner and move to re-size.

I've found that sometimes [maybe 1 of 10] times I try and send a text my screen will start to slow [sluggish, only half my presses register] then it becomes unresponsive [none of my touches register].

The Home key still works but when I click to go back to the home pages the screen is still unresponsive.

This also happens when I leave my phone idle, for example, this morning I couldn't turn my alarm off. Or on several occasions I've missed phone calls because I couldn't slide the slider.

The fix: I press the power button to LOCK then I'll slide to unlock the phone. This bring the phone back.

Another issue.

This happens once in a while whether or not my phone is plugged in

I have this exact same issue. Does anyone know why this happens?

Droid X menu button stopped working

My Droid X was working perfectly until yesterday afternoon. While trying to edit my calendar, I noticed that the menu button wasn't working. I thought it was the app (not a new app, had been working fine for the past week with this app), so I deleted and reinstalled the app. Still not working. So I started trying to use my menu button in other applications on the phone and realized that it wasn't working at all. I tried powering off the phone and removing the battery, but it didn't fix the menu button problem. I haven't installed any new apps for the past two days, so there was nothing new that I had done to my phone. I took it into the Verizon store and they tried everything, but it looks like the menu button is totally dead.

The guy at the Verizon store said that every electronic has a 1-2% fail rate, and I would be the lucky 1-2%. I called Verizon tech support and they are sending me a new phone (minus battery and SD card), should be here by tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get a perfect phone this time. I LOVED this phone up until yesterday, now I feel like my bubble has burst. I've only had the phone 1.5 weeks, and I can't believe I've had a hardware failure already. At least the tech support guy was nice.

I've owned the phone for almost a week now. The first few days of having the phone, everything worked well. But the past few days, I've been having major battery issues.

At first, battery would go from 100% to 60% in an hour of not even using the phone. I had wifi, bluetooth, and gps off. I also had no programs running in the background. I also try charging the phone by having it connected to the USB on my computer. The phone says that it is charging, yet the battery still drains down. So then I decided to use the wall jack charger only.

This worked, but it was taking over 1.5 and 2 hrs to do a full charge, which I thought was odd. Also during these charges, my phone would ridiculously heat up on its backside.

The last straw was this morning. I woke up with a 100% charge. I didn't use it at all for an hour, it just sat there. The battery was at 50% when I checked it that hour later. Another hour later, with minor usage, it was at 30%. I then decided it was time to go to VZW and see if they could replace my battery. In the 15 minutes I waited in line to be serviced, my phone went to 20% and then 5%.

Battery is replaced with no hassle at the VZW store. However, I'm now home and having the same EXACT battery issues as before. It's gotten to the point where I don't even use my phone. The battery drains, yet I'm not even using it. I don't get it. So it looks like I'm going to have to go back to the store and have my phone replaced.

I switched over from the iPhone for the DroidX, and this is really disheartening!

I honestly can't stand the balls of Verizon Wireless. Here is an update to my story.

I went back to VZW and my DroidX would not turn on. The batter isn't the issue, it's the actual phone. I spent 4 hours of my evening getting conflicting information between the story manager, tech support lead, and 1800 customer support as to what to do next.

Long story short, I have to mail my DroidX back in so that I can be issued a new one. Problem #1: I switched over from AT&T, so I have no back-up Verizon phone. Problem # 2: The DroidX is currently on back-order and a new one will be shipped to me within the next 24 days.

They know I have no back-up phone... And VZW will not issue me a loaner phone. So the store manager looks me in the eye and tells me that there is nothing she can nor will do for me. She says I am supposed to be out of a cell phone for the next 24 days. This isn't 1994 where a person can live without a cell phone for that long.

So now I have to go around asking friends if I can borrow an old VZW phone that they're not using. Am I the only one who finds this disturbing? I had the DroidX for a total of 3 days and it died on me. I am a new customer who switched over from AT&T and this is how they treat me? I saw the worse customer support and concern tonight. Sadly, I am stuck with VZW for two more years.
