OFFICIAL Droid X Issues/Problem Thread

So now I have to go around asking friends if I can borrow an old VZW phone that they're not using. Am I the only one who finds this disturbing? I had the DroidX for a total of 3 days and it died on me. I am a new customer who switched over from AT&T and this is how they treat me? I saw the worse customer support and concern tonight. Sadly, I am stuck with VZW for two more years.

Actually.... If you are unhappy with Verizon and you are still within your thirty days, you can get a full money refund of what you have got into the phone and cancel your contract without paying any cancellation fees and go back to ATT if you would rather... once the thirty days is up, yeah you are stuck for two years unless you pay hefty cancellation fee, but until that 30 days is up, you have the option to get out "scot free"... unless they have changed this too!

I have never had a problem with Verizon's customer service. I know the Store in Battle creek, Michigan is full of #$@ holes that don't really want to help, but the store in Grandville, MI is full of support. I typically just call Verizon direct though and always get my issue resolved. That is the only reason I stay with them due to their prices being so much higher then everyone else. I would call them direct and not go through the store.

You're not stuck with anything. If you're that dissatisfied with VZW, why not just get out of your contract and go back to AT&T? You are still within your 30 day return window. And if the phone was defective, chances are you won't even have to pay a restocking fee.

I swear, it seems as if some people stay in bad situations just so they can complain about it.

I love my Droid X. It's my first smartphone and I don't know how I ever lived without one... But I am a newbie to all this fancy technology.
Lately my phone has been superslow when navigating text messaging and other notifications. Just this morning, I touch my text messaging icon and touch a conversation to try and type new message and it's not responding, then going back to home screen after few seconds. This also happens when I check my hotmail notifications as well... Is this a common problem? Is there an app I may have installed that is causing this lag? What can I do?
Thanks!

I honestly can't stand the balls of Verizon Wireless. Here is an update to my story.

I went back to VZW and my DroidX would not turn on. The batter isn't the issue, it's the actual phone. I spent 4 hours of my evening getting conflicting information between the story manager, tech support lead, and 1800 customer support as to what to do next.

Long story short, I have to mail my DroidX back in so that I can be issued a new one. Problem #1: I switched over from AT&T, so I have no back-up Verizon phone. Problem # 2: The DroidX is currently on back-order and a new one will be shipped to me within the next 24 days.

They know I have no back-up phone... And VZW will not issue me a loaner phone. So the store manager looks me in the eye and tells me that there is nothing she can nor will do for me. She says I am supposed to be out of a cell phone for the next 24 days. This isn't 1994 where a person can live without a cell phone for that long.

I was at a Verizon store yesterday about the noise canceling being too aggressive and the other person not being able to hear me during a call.
They confirmed the issue and a 'Re-Confirmed New' (refurb) phone will be arriving Tuesday at my house.
The store could not give me a new one because I purchased the phone at Costco. The Verizon store called Costco and they did not have any in stock.
They asked if I wanted to wait for Costco to order a new one or have a refurb sent now. Well, the refurb was new 3 weeks ago. The one I have now was new 3 weeks ago. I said send me the refurb. It's been confirmed to work.
I'll look it over and if it's not as good as the one I have now, I'll send it back.

Anyway, why not ask for a refurb?

I know, you want a new one. But the one I have now is no newer than the one they'll be sending me.

Songs cuts off during the last 3 - 4 seconds on random wma files. Super annoying, as I want to avoid buying a seperate mp3 player! Or an I pod. This happens with all music players I have tried. Even worse, the default moto player, that has the nice widgets is the worst. It puts the songs on a cd in abc order, not track order! This makes most albums Unlistenable!

When is 2.2 coming out?, and will I actually be able to use this expesive hdmi cable to stream movies on my tv? There will be a flash player too, I hope!

Will the keyboard know how to capitalize the letter I and not take up the whole screen in portrait mode? Will the camera take better pictures? Will the gps/sleep/battery issues be gone?

Will it still have to import every email address of every person I've ever gmailed? Will the gmail and text apps stop acting up? Will the timer volume be audible? Will they fix the Smart Sensor bug that stops your phone from ringing? Will they fix the wifi WEP problem?

Will this get fixed before my 30 days are up?

Hay everyone, new droidX owner here...

Love the phone, it's my first smartphone and it looks like I picked a great time to dive into the market..

Anyway, I love this phone, love it, only problem I'm getting is is has no reception at my house..I get one bar if I'm lucky and thats standing next to a window...

Now, I've been with verizion since 1998 and have never had this issue..My last phone was a basic moto flip phone that had 3-4 (of 4) bars at my house and never dropped a call, this one not so much...Two other basic verizon phones have great signal in the same place..

I have stayed with verizion this long because of the network, resisted getting a eyephone and going to att because I wanted a good signal all the time..It's very frustrating to say the least.

Do you actually have bad service? Dropped Calls? Or is the only way you notice by the indicator on the phone? We have noticed that the X does not show as many bars when compared to the Droid1, but we have not had any complaints as to more dropped calls or service issues.

I am currently using my HDMI cable to stream movies to my TV...

Issue with USB computer connectivity

I had to reset my Droid X twice already. I had it for 2 weeks. The first time I connected the phone to my computer, first I couldn't see the media card with my computer, so I left it alone and find a wireless solution to sync my music.

After I disconnected the phone my 3G network was gone, I reactivated the phone with verizon using *228 and the 3G reappear but wasn't working correctly. I thought was a network issue and I called Verizon. I had to reset the whole phone and worked again.

I didn't connect the phone to the computer again untill yesterday and the same thing happened. I had to erase everything again... dammm

My droid x reboots multiple times a day, and sometimes but not always when the task killer does its thing. Any ideas on this?

Droid X reception

I have zero reception on this joke of a phone. I can't believe I'm saying I want my Storm 1 back. My house has bad reception to begin with (I live 15 miles out of NYC go figure), but my storm 1 and even my fathers 5+ year old razor work like a charm compared to this overpriced brick. What gives?

I called Verizon they tried every work around they could think of, and nothing. I had to drive 5 miles away just to get any reception whatsoever. Do I escalate it now to the point to ask them to check the antennas in the area?

My son has a Droid "1" I have a new Droid-X. Sitting next to me at home he has phone reception and internet, I don't.
