OFFICIAL Droid X Issues/Problem Thread

kinda hope they change the quick contact find scrollbar from that tab, to a full alphabet on the side to quickly tap the starting letter of the contact.

I tried to transfer music from my Droid to my pc and it doesn't detect my phone. What's up with that? Do I need drivers?

DX Wi-Fi issues

Yes, I know that this has been talked about before and in many other threads; however I want to add to the hype because it is seriously pissing me off (and I know it is for a lot of other users).

My DX (owned since release) has major issues with wi-fi networks. It can run tethering with absolutely no issue and gives other devices perfect wi-fi via the tethering side. The only changes to my system is that I added ROOT access in order to use root only applications. No overclocking, no roms, to flashes, nothing... just ROOT, root file explorer, and root startup manager.

So let me toss some testing background:

-This issue does not happen with all wireless networks, nor does it happen if I connect to another DX that is wi-fi tethering 3g access.
-This issue happens primarily at home and with linksys/cisco/netgear routers that friends own

My router: Linksys by Cisco: WRT54G2 Firmware Version: 1.0.04

-Setup 1: (which didn't work and was my original settings)
Wireless B/G
Channel 11 (2.462ghz)
WPAPersonal (tkip)

Symptoms: Drops constantly, can't find the router after having full signal (standing right next to it)

-Setup 2: (also does not work)
Wireless G Only
Channel 6 (2.437ghz)
WPA2Personal (aes)

Symptoms: drops constantly, can't find the router after having full signal, loses the router all together and won't accept the pass phrase after the initial loss of connection

-Setup 3: (once again, does not work)
Wireless G Only
Channel 1 (2.412ghz)
No Security

Symptoms: still continues to drop and lose access to see the router.

If nothing else, I hope this information helps the powers that be to correct this issue. I thought the DX was going to be the best phone yet, and between the wi-fi issues, the crappy hard keys, and the horrible speaker, and the contact syncing system... I am so far very unimpressed.

Anyone have problems with lag? Sometimes the menu, etc is just really laggy. Also my battstatt and Tajm will sometimes be completely off . Today it even seemed to freeze at the status of when I unplugged it in the morning. Fixed after turning it off and back on.

That's very strange, since I've ready many threads where people have the same issue. Are you already running 2.2? Does anyone else's phone capitalize I's? Hmm if it's just a random issue, perhaps then when 2.2 gets pushed it'll cure it.

Yeah I've been running 2.2 since it was leaked with no issues with the keyboard.

Cool. So hopefully 2.2 will fix everything I'm complaining about, except maybe the emoticons. I miss the little Droid's but I can live without them I suppose. lol

They are back in 2.2 :)...

I'm having difficulty charging the phone. My wife and I both have X's and her doesn't do this. With the wall charger my phone will wake up when i connect it to the charger however no charging indicators will be displayed unit i unplug the wall charger and then plug it back in. The phone will then say that its charging.

I have noticed that a couple of times I have not made a full connection with the charger into the port and either a jiggle or unplug and connect again does the trick...

Once you get the charging connection, has it ever stopped charging (prior to 100%) or not held the charge and / or drain the battery)?

No it never stopped and it's not due to the connector not making a good connection because I tested that. I plugged in my phone it didn't show that it was charging and then making careful not to touch the connection at all I unplugged the wall connection and plugged it back in and the phone then showed it was charging. If it was the physical connection of the phone to the charger causing the problem me playing with the wall plug would have had no effect.

Droid X wifi issue?

Anyone have issues staying connected to wifi? I just switched from a Droid and I have 5 other smart phones in my home that connect to wifi all of the time. The Droid X will connect fine but will then stop sending and receiving data....It still THINKS it has a connection but it doesn't. "forgetting" the wifi settings and reconnecting are the only things that seem to work.

Anyone else seeing this issue?
this does happen to me, i try to watch Youtube videos and it disconnects and stops the video from playing. its REALLY annoying

Is anyone else having issues uploading pictures to facebook with the built-in facebook app of motoblur through the gallery (go into picture, go into menu, share, photo sharing)? No matter if I'm on WiFi connection or using the 3G connection, it fails after 23%... Stopped working around yesterday.

Another thing I've noticed is that I removed my facebook account from my phone and re-added it and my contacts isn't syncing back up to my phone, is there some sort of problem anyone know?

Can't reproduce the wifi issues on Froyo... so can't speak to that.
I personally LIKE the hard buttons.
And the speaker volume is also much better in Froyo.

Please PLEASE report back after the 2.2 update coming in the very near future.
