OFFICIAL Droid X Issues/Problem Thread

My DX started acting up a couple weeks ago, random reboots and shut downs. Last week it started dropping calls, this morning I was using instant messenger and my buddy said all my messages were coming thru 3 times. Call Verizon today, they recommended a factory reset....... So I did, now my phone is stuck on Activation....... Verizon is sending a new phone tomorrow. Hope the new one is better. Kind of wish I would have kept my original Droid, but I don't think my wife will give it back to me since she loves that phone......

When you get the new phone, DO NOT let anyone in a Verizon store touch it. Specifically, don't let them install Advanced Task Killer on it.

I tried to transfer music from my Droid to my pc and it doesn't detect my phone. What's up with that? Do I need drivers?

Possibly could be...if you are on a PC, here is the link to update your drivers...

waiting for the almighty update.....

waiting for the almighty update....I just got my x about five days ago and its awesome also it is my fist smart phone I'm digging the swype and the cool features that it came with. The one hang up that it have is the tiered roll out of this phantum froyo 2.2. my wife and brother both got the update and they have the droid 1 and two. I'm starting to feel like the unwaunted step child of the droid...wait that's not right more like the illegitimate bastard son of droid family.....anyway how is this roll out being issued ?

The DroidX Rollout will start "early Sept." according to Moto/VZW reps (but don't hold your breath... "soon" is said to be the most accurate we will get).

The only ones on the DX that have them, are those that installed the "leaked" release, more info can be found on the forums... Those that loaded the leak, will have to flash the phone back to stock, and then receive the OTA release.

i had mine for 3 days and got my storm back lol...now I have my replacement and the first call i got has tinny static whenever the caller calls. SO sad. I actually liked the Storm but the screen kept not working anymore and it was reboot city so Verizon offered me early upgrade. Now Its round 3 of head aches in far less time that I had the headaches with my Storms. I can not live 4 2 years with static calls.

losing last 4 seconds 0f wma music files

the last 4 seconds of all my wma files are getting cutoff. I tried everything to fix it soft reset , hard reset, format sdcard. my old droid worked fine both before and after froyo update. this must be a firmware bug. I bet a lot of people haven't even noticed it because it is rather hard to notice. spent about an hour with vzw and they "never heard of this problem"! I love the X so much that I could live with this little quirk but I am going to bug vzw about this one.

problem with battery

Only have had phone for 2 weeks. The battery dies quickly and says only has 5% life pull out battery and put back in and has 40%. Really need help. Starting to bother me

I am having problems with google maps. It shows my location as being off the coast of florida, but I live in central virginia. I have the gps, and wireless on, but not the gps so my battery doesn't drain. Any ideas?

Did you do the compass calibration thing? Assuming you're on a Droid X with stock 2.1?

I have trouble getting text written in text fields. I used a program that our company uses online and i could not get text to enter into the text fields at all. I used this on my computer and the last three smart phones and i can't use it on Droid X. 3 days and I'm ready to return it now,the calendar is a P.O.S. i had to down load a free calendar app so i could put bi weekly recurring appointments and the Droid X does not have the option. I like to know who design this P.O.S phone. Can't use echange mail it won't work either this is so disappointing waiting 10 days for a phone that only good for surfing web.

My notification light stopped blinking green when I get emails, but it will blink red when my battery is low. I did a battery pull. I also used handcent and blink for text and call notifications, and that stopped working too. Weird!

I like the browser and so far that's it for theDX a fast web browser and cell phone camera not what i expected at all for droid smart phone.

Have had my Droid X since the day it arrived at my Verizon store. Have never had so many dropped calls in my life! Have tried everything with the Verizon tech types ... including many, many *228 option 2, supposed fixes. Finally they have offered me a reconditioned Droid X which sent me over the top. RECONDITIONED!! After what I paid for this worthless piece of crap phone! I don't think so. And other than the phone, everything works great. I finally reverted to my old BBerry for a phone and am using wifi in my house for the non-phone functions. What to do? I don't want to accept a reconditioned phone ... The f xxxxx s will not do anything else for me cause I'm over the thirty days, had the audacity to tell me I could purchase another phone. Can you stand that one?!! ... Help guys ... all help will be greatly appreciated ...

Voice mail notification: I get none. I could have several but there is no icon in the task bar. Am I missing something. Forgive me if this has been covered.
