OFFICIAL Droid X Issues/Problem Thread

i unplugged mines last night at 11:00 pm, battery was at 100%. i woke up, still at 100%, downloaded the update, still at 100%. traveled to work, watched about 15 minutes of Mad Men, then listened to music for the next 45 minutes. i also checked out the new features. downloaded some app updates, visited some forums on tapatalk, checked that flash was working properly and battery is now at 80%. Im using the extended batter.

Do you use a task killer...or should I uninstall mine?? I would love to have battery life like that. Even before the update I would unplug about 6:45am and when I plugged it in at night to charge at about 10:30 I have about 30% left.

Uninstall Your Task Killer and battery life will improve

The reception in the building I work in is not the greatest. My phone will switch between 3g and 1x a lot. It has always done this though. After 4.5-5 hours I had to plug my phone in because it was dead. I got the x the day it was launched and it has always at least lasted through the work day.

Anyone else getting this? On 2.1, when moving from one homescreen to the other, it would snap instantly, now I can clearly see one screen sliding while the other appears. Much slower. I checked "running services" and have:

Other: 110MB in 10 | Avail: 81MB + 127MB in 36

Before the 2.2 upgrade I'm pretty sure I had much more memory available. I re-rooted just after upgrading to 2.2 and that's when it slowed down. Any thoughts?

Did a battery pull and things are better, but still not as quick. "Running services" now showing:

Other: 101MB in 10 | Avail: 123MB + 104MB in 30

Thoughts?

nope, no task killer.

Ok, so I just uninstalled the Task Kller and boy do I hope that helps because just uninstalling the task killer I went from 70 to 60 percent, it has never been this bad only since the update before at least it would last all day with moderate use.

Lock screen icon

Hello, I received Froyo this morning on my droid X. Is there any way to go back to the old lock screen icons. I hate the look of the 2.2 versions.

anyone having an issue where their calendar events arent showing up in the agenda widget?

google account takes a little longer to sync. after you press "Sync", nothing happens for about 10 seconds, and then the sync icons show up.

No, learn to love it. Just like ugly ppl, learn to love them too.

Is there any way to get rid of the lock screen? (The one where you swipe left to right to unlock) Because I have a pattern lock as well and it's redundant to swipe, then have to do the pattern lock.

I want JUST the pattern lock. It was like that on 2.1 before the update.

I don't have a pattern lock but I would suggest trying this...

Disable the pattern lock and then lock your phone. Then unlock your phone and go back and enable the pattern lock. See if that works hopefully.

I can't install the update

Hey,
I don't do anything crazy to my phone. I rooted simply to get rid of bloatware and free tethering.

Before I went to download the update I changed all the files back to .apk and I unrooted. That is pretty much all I thought I would have to do to the phone. I have searched the forums but i do not see anyone else with the message I am getting.....

I download and then choose to install, it shuts down and begins the process only to show the error symbol on start up and the phone then goes through regular start up. I then get the message " ! Message Status: The software update failed!"

Any help would be appreciated.

Try de-selecting the calendars and then re-selecting them. Worked for me.

genius. thanks bud. that worked.

PROBLEM: My swipe screen (to unlock the phone after resting) cannot be used without being attached to another security method. If I disable locking I open right to my home screen.

In 2.1 we had the option to disable to swipe screen to unlock the phone but that option is now missing.

GO TO Location and Security Settings>Set Up Screen Lock. If you disable screen unlock security you lose the swipe at the beginning. IT only comes back if you enable some other methods of protection but does not return on it's own.

Any clarification would be great. I had an Exchange Account that required a password which I deleted too...so I didn't think the issue would persist.

Suggestions?
