OFFICIAL Droid X Issues/Problem Thread

PROBLEM: My swipe screen (to unlock the phone after resting) cannot be used without being attached to another security method. If I disable locking I open right to my home screen.

In 2.1 we had the option to disable to swipe screen to unlock the phone but that option is now missing.

GO TO Location and Security Settings>Set Up Screen Lock. If you disable scrren unlock security you lose the swipe at the beginning. IT only comes back if you enable some other methos of protection but does not return on it's own.

Any clarification would be great. I had an Exchange Account that required a password which I deleted too...so I didn't think the issue would persist.

Suggestions?

Unfortunately it seems that with 2.2 you have both or neither now :(

Many of us want just a screen lock (pattern, pin, password) and NO swipe. Other want just a swipe with no lock (patten, pin, password). But it seems you need BOTH, or nothing. Pretty crappy. 2.1 was better.

Another issue I'm having is viewing web pages takes FOREVER! The pages are not loading and I'm waiting for a LONG time to get the page fully loaded...sometimes with it not loading at all. This is with a full set of bars and the 3G notification arrows both solid. Strange...

this really pisses me off.

Unless I'm missing something you can have a swipe with no lock. I have my security settings set to "none" under screen lock and I need to swipe to unlock the phone just like normal.

the poster wants to be able to enter their security method, without having to swipe to unlock the phone.

Just found another problem. I have animations on my phone even though I have selected "No animations". When I go into my app drawer, it fades in and out, an animation. It really seems as if a hard reset is in order after upgrading to OTA 2.2. :(

right, I understand that, but he also indicates a second problem which is the lack of a swipe with no lock. That's what I'm not following.

Lol this is dependent on your launcher, the system settings do not affect most of these apps.

I am using the default OS, the stock launcher.

Does anyone else have an issue with multi-day events and activesync in 2.2? I have my exchange calendar sync to the phone and any multi-day events only show as the first day on the phone. I have not found a workaround for this. I tried adding new events, editing current ones but they still only show up as a single day on the phone. I have to edit the event on the phone itself to multi-day. Google calendar entries work fine.

Contacts

When I go to put a contact on my home screen, it gives me the right contact but puts someone elses contact picture.

Is anyone else finding that their Exchange sync is not working as well since the 2.2 upgrade? For the past two weeks my exchange has finally been working properly using the stock app. I got a license for Touchdown, but hoped to stay stock. It was my understanding that 2.2 would fix the exchange sync issues, namely the fact that I am not being alerted when emails come in unless I go to my inbox, at which point all the notifications and new messages start pouring in. What gives? I thought 2.2 had the exchange sync/notification fix.

It's worse for me as well.

not sure about other launchers, but with ADW, when you select an app from the app screen (not the home screen), you get a quick flash of the home screen and then the app opens up. anyone else experience this. I sense an update to 2.2 coming soon.

This is definitely new. When I toggle between my apps screen and the home screen it definitely fades in and out even though I have animations turned off. Definitely SLOWER. Very noticeable when dropping an app icon from the app screen via long press to the home screen. :icon_evil:
