I have not been able to get backup assistance to work on my droid x. It keeps telling me my passwork is wrong when I ask for my password it gives me the same one I put in. It will not let me uninstall it is shows 2 backup assistance ver 1.? and 2.2

Have you installed a ROM or Theme that may have changed or installed another version or something?

Honestly, the best suggestion I can give you.. is put all of the BackUp Assistant headaches behind you. Migrate your contacts out of BackUp Assistant, and into google contacts for easy syncing...

My Droid X seems to like the landscape view. Its rather annoying when I dont want to use Landscape. When I click into my mail, the screen goes right to landscape. I unchecked "Landscape" in the settings but I dont want everything non landscape.. Any ideas of what is happening?

You can get Quick Settings, which is free and will allow you to kick in and out of landscape mode without returning to the homescreen or phone settings.

I actually set Tasker (pretty frikken far from free) to automagically set it to allow landscape in the Browser and a few other apps where landscape makes sense.

I agree the acceleromoter is too senstive.

random reboot

ever since i did the update my phone reboots out of nowhere i tried the factory reset worked for a few days then started again there no specific time it does it just out of the blue

Does anyone else's constantly go back and forth between 3g and 1x? It will have full bars 3g and I'll be listening to pandora and all the sudden it stops playing and my phone has 1x. it's like it can't decide between cdma and 3g, but when I go to broadband networks i can't even select them like other android phones...any ideas?

Have you by any chance changed LCD Density? Just curious.. have seen that cause reboots in some cases.. usually with ROMs tho

Screen problems

The bottom of my screen is jumping and showing images from the top. Anyone else have this issue? I have tried a hard reset but no luck. It worked fine for about 4 hours then it just started acting up. There is a line across the bottom of the screen which is where the problem starts.

Any ideas? I might just have to take it into a store tomorrow but they probably won't have a replacement. Ugh.

Some of the Droid X's have faulty screens. It was very few, but maybe yours is one? Better get that checked out and fixed ASAP! Good luck!

anyone tried easy tether on the official 2.2 release?

Yep, using EasyTether right now on my Rooted Droid x 2.2.

Was using it fine as well on the UnRooted 2.2.

Trying to find information and links on Wifi Tether application, and if there are any problems with it working on 2.2. Anyone with info? Still reading through this thread, backwards, so the answers may still be ahead... Umm.. I mean behind... Umm.. Oh whatever.

Well. This is an interesting problem.

I have the screen flicker problem. I'm using 2.2, all jacked up and modded. I sbf'ed to stock and went into Verizon today. They are sending me a replacement, but apparently I'm the first person in over a month and a half at their location to have a screen flicker problem. The manager and I came to a half-assed conclusion that no version of motoblur software is safe to their hardware malfunctions, and seemingly good devices can still take a crap on their user's face. Look out for this... I'm just glad they are able to send me a new one.

Here's one I tripped over this morning...I looked for something similar here but couldn't find it.

Woke up this morning to a dead Droid X. Don't know why, but it wasn't having any. Plugged it in USB, got a green light and that's it. Battery pull didn't work.

THE SOLUTION for those who might run into this:

1) Pull the battery and the SD card.
2) Plug it in with the power outlet. I usually charge mine USB off my server but this time it wouldn't work. You should get the White M.
3) Put the SD card and battery back in. It should charge.

Not sure what caused mine to die; last I knew I'd shut off WiFi for the night and the last thing I was using was Adobe Reader. If that app is as resource-hungry as the PC version it would explain things but just in case anyone else gets this little surprise this is how I fixed it.
