~OFFICIAL: FRG01B FroYo Issues/Solutions Thread~

glad i found that out before sinking any kind of money into phone like that. it's rediculus to think i can't download all my music onto a device so highly rated

Aren't there apps on the market that you can use to easily load music to your phone from itunes?

Have you heard of mspot? All my music from my itunes is loaded to my mspot account online and I can play any song when ever I want from my droid. There are other ones out there that you can actually take the music from itunes to your phone.

2.2 Issues

Ever since the 2.2 OTA I have noticed a drastic decrease in battery life. My phone also seems to be running a lot hotter. It feels hot to the touch when it is charging, sitting on the counter, and when I am using it. Is anybody else having these issues?

Droid heating up after 2.2 update

If this has been explicitly discussed in another threat, I apologize for this one. I've read through most but didn't find much. I thought I would see if anyone else is having this difficulty.

I manually applied the 2.2 update. I'm not rooted. Everything seems to be working fine. Except, when I start using the browser, about a minute into it, the back of the phone heats up, particularly in the area near the camera. I've done a factory data reset and the battery pull but I'm still having the problem. It doesn't appear that this is causing any problems but I'm worried about it running so hot with minor use.

Anyone else with this issue?

Thanks in advance

Bluetooth Dialing Issue Froyo 2.2 on Moto Droid

Hey guys, so I literally JUST got the update, and I was really looking forward to it bringing bluetooth voice dialing.... The catch is, MINE'S STILL NOT WORKING! So here's my setup. I got the OTA Update from Verizon, and I was thinking sweet, now it should work with my Jawbone JB2. But when I turn on the phone and my headset I get nothing, zilch, nada. So is there a compatibility issue here? Or is there something special I'm missing? I've tried repairing the headset, I've tried rebooting the the phone lord knows how many times, but I still do not get the voice prompting for options. Any ideas?

*Edit*
Sooo... not really sure what happened, but I tried it again about mid-day today and it suddenly just worked. So, I guess problem solved.

my phone just did an update and the same problem with the vibrate feature. you cant just turn down the volume and vibrate off , you have to go through a bunch of steps. this is total b.s. leave it alone, it was working fine, now its a pain in the arse to shut the ringer completly off.

MY Droid 1 actually feels cooler since the update to 2.2.

It is noticeably cooler when using the GPS capabilities on the dash. It did not stop charging because of overheating on my trip to/from Myrtle Beach, a trip lasting nearly 6 hours in each direction. Prior to installing 2.2, it use to stop charging because of overheating after about 2.5 hours, then restart charging after it cooled down and I unplugged, then plugged it back in. BTW, I use a Motorola Droid auto charger so using the a third-party charger was not a cause of my overheating in this case.

I've had the same problem. I got my update early last week, and now my phone can barely squeeze out 5 hours before it's dead. When I check what's using the battery, the Android OS is the number 1 user. I'm going to have to take this to the store and see what they say.

Other than Google Maps, none of my apps show up in the downloaded section. I was thinking a full phone reset might help????

home button

Okay..been searching this thread. If I missed the answer... I'm apologizing in advance.
I have ADW and Launcher Pro as home replacement apps.

I use Home Switcher to go back and forth. Since the update, no matter which home replacement I set as the "Default"...say ADW, when I press the home key, instead of the different screens popping up for me to chose from...it defaults automatically back to the default launcher.

Any ideas?

Yes. Maybe Launcher Pro doesn't work with 2.2?

You build the app for the OS, not the other way around. I'd email the developer.

Don't think that's the problem. Others have said Launcher Pro is working fine.

I got the update this AM finally and have noticed the battery is draining a lot faster than before also. One very annoying thing is that I can not turn off GPS. I've been through the settings menu several times and to "un-check" GPS location and every single time I go back it is checked.

I did install a couple of new apps today after update so it may be that one of those apps have taken over control of my GPS settings. (don't like that if true.)

If anyone has ideas or thoughts on regaining control of my GPS settings, I'd love to hear them.

R
