****Official FroYo Rollout Thread-Version2!****

So the speed increasing is different than those who have rooted and overclocked to 800? Whats the difference?

Absolutely nothing, except one very important little thing:

it is now officially sanctioned by VZW/Moto; so it no longer voids your warranty.

The 2.2 kernel now allows up to 800. Is stock 2.2 actually running at that or do we still need SetCPU to get it to actually run at 800?
The CPU is set @ 600Mhz max 250Mhz min. with this update. The kernel supports 700Mhz and 800Mhz also, but you must be rooted w/ set CPU or another similar app to raise the speed to 800Mhz. Hope this clears up any confusion.

No, when I downloaded the rooted version of this with stock kernal it ran at 800, which makes sense because this version is suppose to run faster. To get it over 800 I had to use a kernel.

So I will be running at 800 once I get the OTAP? I am not rooted, just stock...no special apps to overclock or anything. Can someone clairify. Looks like there is a different answer depending on who replies.

Uncheck set at boot on set CPU and reboot. Open set CPU and read the green settings text. Not the interactive green bars. I just did this and setting is 600 - 250 until you touch the bar, just like the first time I opened set CPU after installing. Call me crazy but without root and set CPU you aren't getting this to 800Mhz.

Good idea. Rebooting now.

What I'm noticing, for the most part is, the ppl who are reporting they have recieved OTA, other than the one from Atlanta (I'm in Macon by the way....75 south of that), are coming from the Northeastern part of the country. Other than the person from Atlanta that I reference, any report of anyone from the South who's recieved the OTA?

Yep....I am in Savannah and mine was up and waiting this morning when I woke up at 6am.

lol, where you live has nothing to do with how the update is pushed. Again, it's completely random.

We saw some regionality favoritism initially when FroYo rolled on Nexus...based on the very first reports on the Droid, is does appear east coasters are favored so far....still, this could just as easily be explained since east coasters are awake before left coasters...:icon_ banana:

Stupid computers. You try and give someone a straight answer......
Maybe someone who isn't rooted can download OS Monitor and tell us what the CPU settings are for this build.
