Could you please tell me what your Droid's Kernel version says in the "About Phone" area?
My Droid is not rooted, and I did the manual update to 2.2 when the first FRG01B file was release into the wild early last week. Mine says the following:
Kernel version
2.6.32.9-g103d848
android-build@apa26 #1
Is that the same Kernel version showing up for those who waited for the official OTA? Please let me know! THANKS!
From the followup post to OP in THIS VERY thread. Still, this strengthens my suspicion this OTA is the same file as the first update (aka 'patch') originating from the Google update server.
I just talked with customer support at Verizon in reference to the issue with the update hanging on my wife's phone and then taking it back to 2.0.1. He said I will most likely have to do a factory reset to receive the update again. I asked when I could expect the update on my phone and he said they had just got an email and Motorola is stepping back the pushout and slowing it down, so it could be a while. Must be lots of issues if they are holding it up again.
