****Official FroYo Rollout Thread-Version2!****

I must have fallen out of the loop because I checked my phone as I walked out the door to see there were no icons so I rebooted and it said there was a system update available but the battery was too low. Felt like such a geek for speeding more than usual to get to work and plug it in to find out what update it was talking about. Last I'd read I thought Froyo wasn't coming to the D1, at least not any time soon. Yay! :)

You need to drop by the Forum a bit more often. :)

Android 2.2 OTA Update Hitting DROID Right Now!

Remember that report that all FRG Froyo builds for the Motorola Droid had been pulled? Please laugh that off as the FRG01B updates have resumed tonight, only a day after we predicted they would. No idea what may have caused the delay, but you should be seeing your phone with a notification to update any time over the next few days.

Of course, you can still manually update through this post.

I'm considering un-rooting and going back to stock 2.2 but I HAVE to have Wireless tethering and I'm wondering if there's an app for that...? Hahahah :)

I was able to install the new update.zip (79mb) over the one from last week. I just deleted the old update.zip file from my sd card.

Worked like a charm

I saw a number of posts in various sections about the update. A few have posted that they got it overnight. :icon_ banana:

Congrats to the unrooted. They can now have the FroYo goodness.

you can always go to m.adobe.com or m.flash.com to test

If nubby can see the red scrolling across on my signature, that's flash.

I right clicked on your signature, and it is an animated GIF, not flash. Were it flash, there would be a Flash-specific context menu. All I got was the normal "save as" context menu.

If you can see the animated "ESET Smart Security" ad at the top of the forum, THAT'S Flash.

Or, go to m.kongregate.com and see if the games work. Those are all flash.

Alarm clock app issue?

I received the Android 2.2 (FROYO) system upgrade for my DROID by Motorola through VerizonWireless early this morning. Did anyone else? Are you having problems with the Alarm Clock app in your phone? I can't seem to make any changes to the settings now...and it's not listed in the market download or the manage application screens. HELP! I called VerizonWireless who transferred me to Motorola, and they didn't know how to fix it other than to reset my phone (where I would lose everything).

My notice shows "Froyo 2.2 Update, Downloaded and verified 76.9MB". Can someone tell me where the update downloaded to? I want to grab a copy of it before I run the update.
