****Official FroYo Rollout Thread-Version2!****

I can confirm that I see all the smiles, the red moving light under your sig Hookbill, and I can see the ads above the thread.

I received word from my sister's boyfriend about 30 minutes ago that his stock Droid received the 2.2 update this morning.

Keep your eyes open!

People are reporting that they are not getting Flash OTA as we thought previously. That message you see is not what I get when I go to that site on my Droid. I believe we have the correct file in the Official Froyo Circus Thread.

I'm really not sure what made anyone think that Flash was going to be bundled with the update to begin with? I'm a bit puzzled, as it's repeatedly been said that it would be a market download. I mean, I know that the whole Froyo thing has been a confusing fiasco, but I thought the one thing we DID know was Flash was a seperate install? (as it should be, that way you don't have to run it if you don't want to).

If I am not mistaken, the only device that is supposed to SHIP with Flash preinstalled is the Droid 2. Probably ONLY due to the timing of the final, non-beta version. The Droid 1's Flash is supposed to hit the marketplace on the 18th - I got that right from the DF blog, referenced here:

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-news/67163-flash-will-ready-droid-1-august-18th.html

since the OTA is already (back) underway, there's no way that Flash is included, they're not going to push an OTA with a 3rd party beta preinstalled.

ADW installed, but cannot see it in the apps drawer. It's under settings/applications, but I can't find it. Strange.

went to install, stuck in a boot part with an android guy and an exclamation point... been that way for 10 minutes now... i think i might need to restore a backup... :-/

once again, these things are not flash, they're .gif images... well, i don't see the ads as I use adblock in Firefox, but the animated icons and Hook's signature aren't flash - to truly test it you'll need to go to m.flash.com to see if that works

The update I am getting prompted to install is 45.2 MB in size

I already have 2.2, I don't really want Google's version, I just don't want to get prompted to update. If I download that JRummy leak and then reflash UD, am I going to still get this damn prompt?

It will try to install when you reboot, but your custom recovery partition (SPrecovery or Clockwork recovery) is set to not allow installation of update.zip files unless you explicitly allow it. Thus, it will fail. The system will think that the update succeded, though, and it will stop nagging you.

Yeah I believe you are right. I was checking some other known flash sites and am getting the typical window as if Flash is not installed. No joy on the 2.2. packaged rumors.

I'm considering un-rooting and going back to stock 2.2 but I HAVE to have Wireless tethering and I'm wondering if there's an app for that...? Hahahah :)

Re-bumping this! Very curious.

Bumping again. Hate to be annoying but I could really use some suggestions.

There are a couple of apps for wireless tethering, but you have to be rooted with a custom kernel to use them. Wireless tethering will not be part of 2.2 stock.

Thanks. I was aware of stock 2.2 not offering it but I suppose if I'm going to stay rooted I will keep running custom ROMs then because I have to have Wireless tethering. :)

Well, the Flash APK itself is ~12MB, IIRC. So if it were packaged, i'd expect the update to be larger than the 45MB that most are reporting.

Plus, with the DROID being a "Google Experience" device, I figured that the only things bundled would be from Google/Moto and the VZW branded apps.

isn't the 45mb the size of the original "patch" update, but the latest one closer to 76mb or so?
