****Official FroYo Rollout Thread-Version2!****

I went into settings to check it. Not sure what I did exactly, but when I exited, the vibrate setting was suddenly working again!

My wife still hasn't received the OTA update. Are people still receiving the update? I thought the update was supposed to be sent to everyone with D1's by today. I am waiting to hear when froyo for my Droid X will be available.

I'm still waiting in Baltimore. I was never convinced it would be done by the 18th, so I'm not overly disappointed (yet).

Me too. I'm in DC and still haven't gotten it yet either. Howdy, neighbor!

I talked to a service rep who said hers didn't get it either, but tomorrow is supposed to be the end date for it. She said if i don't have it by Friday to call them.

Thank you fbm and hookbill, I plunged in and 2.2 is now loaded. It is busy updating calendar, etc now.

One additional question, in order to make sure I've got a good clean install, should I do a factory reset and then reload the phone? As it stands, everything came back just the way I left it in terms of screens and such (I was expecting the load to do a reset in the process, but that's not the case).

Thanks again for your suggestions and help.

I just called too.

My rep -- very nice -- said to wait until Saturday. She expects the OTA to be complete by then, but there is no official word on that. She also said that she personally hasn't had to help anyone over a bricked phone since it started -- though she didn't deny that it was possible.

She also recommends Ye Ole Battery Pull if you experience any kind of problems with/after the install....

Talking to call center reps is like asking someone that works as a doctor without a degree a medical question. They know nothing.

how do you put it in the root of your SD?? when on my mac i clicked and drug it into the folder noname on my desktop as the link said to do... then just followed directions..

Ok first what is the actual update file named? If you renamed it as update.zip then it will be update.zip.zip. You need to name it just update then the file being a zip will automatically add it. Next connect your phone and open up the SD card. Place that file into the SDcard home and dont put it in any folder withing the sdcard. You should see it at the very bottom after all the folders. Then reboot and install it using the recovery mode.

I download all the file but it gives me all the separate files and I don't know how to transfer it all in one. Please help me.

You could if you wanted to but its not gonna change anything. It's more of a piece of mind deal.

True. lol.

As cool as my rep was, you do get the feeling that they are left in the dark...

Ok first download this file and rename it as just update then place it into your SD card but not into any folder on the card. Let me know when this is done. Do not try to unzip the file

That's because they are, the only ones that actually know what is going on are the IT guys in charge of that division and the network. The reps we speak to when we call are just regular people like me and you with opinions rather than facts.

Verizon Reps and CS folks are treated like mushrooms.

They're kept in the dark and fed horsesh*t. It's nothing personal, they're just not kept informed and are often treated like crap.
