Themes

I tried downloading the Linear theme and it downloaded ok, but when it went to reboot it didn't install the theme and the force close window started popping up for a bunch of different things. I reflashed liberty and it is working now, and shows that the theme is downloaded but I don't know what I did wrong, or if there is a problem.

EDIT: I tried it again and it won't let me past the part where you have to touch the droid to continue

I have done all the reflashes, resets, etc. Still can't use camera and things still think I am running a Droid X. (I am on Droid 2.) I deleted my camera and reinstalled it, no luck.
As this is a bug thread, just posting what has happend to me.
Call me crazy, but I like my stock cam. Other cameras don't offer the same picture options as stock :(
Glad I can use my gmail, though! I took off Linear which may/may not have been the cause.
Droid 2 patch in the TB still states, in subtext, it is for the Droid X. Guess it wasn't a typo :p
All in all, my phone runs a ton faster and battery life is crazy good. Thanks Liberty Team!

Didn't read through the whole thread, but has anyone had problems with gmail force closing on them? I can't open gmail at all without it force closing on me.

Try restoring an old backup before you installed Liberty 2.0. Then, delete the rom and patches out of the toolbox and then reinstall 2.0 from the toolbox, or just download from the OP and install the 'ol fashion way. This fixed that issue for me. I had to restore my old backup from 1.5 to get that issue fixed. Just a wipe/reinstall wasn't enough. Oh, and do not install the patch, it is for the Droid X.

Yes, both listings provide the DroidX patch. Not sure the Droid 2 patch is available at the moment.

I'm using the free Liberty Toolbox and 2.0.1 and every time I install a new theme, the toolbox is mysteriously gone after each reboot and I have to redownload it again. Is that suppose to happen?

Having issues with connecting USB cable to pc and not being able to browse my sdcard as a mass storage device. When plug cable into phone nothing happens. Running Liberty 2.0.1 with the black gingerbread theme.

Problem was with my PC not recognizing anything connected to the usb ports. Reboot fixed that issue

For everyone having an issue with the camera... I read in a post somewhere that a theme was causing problems with the camera.

It seems the only theme that works 100% with 2.0.1 right now is the Oreo theme, and the default theme. I'm not 100% sure though, as I have not tried any of the themes yet.

For anyone having this issue, if you have a theme installed, try using the camera with the default theme and see if it works. I have 2.0.1 on my D2, and have seen no issues with anything yet, including the camera.

Some report themes are causing issues whereas others, using the same theme, report either a different issue than theirs or no issue at all.

Try clearing your cache for the Camera...

-Press Menu softkey
-Click on Settings
-Click on Applications
-Click on Manage applications
-Click on All tab
-Scroll to Camera and click on Camera
-Click on Clear Cache

Which is why for now I'm sticking with the default theme 2.0.1 came with. Until I see a theme designed specifically 2.0.1, I won't dare touch them with all the bad reports I've heard about people having issues using older themes.

I searched -- cannot use liberty settings at all. I keep getting 'Error: Package not found'. Do I just need to download the donate version from the market or get the apk from jrummy's site?

Do you have the previous ToolBox? If you do, go back to the Market and update to the newest one. You don't have to get the donated one. But, a lot of us like to because of Team Liberty's work and donating is a form of saying you appreciate their hard work.

Once you've updated to the newest Toolbox, get the new 2.0 ROM in the ToolBox. It will flash and install for you. Then apply the patches in the ROM Manager to fix force close issues on Settings. Then apply the 2.0.1 patch or D2 patch and reboot.

I did just that, but it turns out that the one I used on my phone was for the Droid X. I downloaded the rom manually again (the one I did from the toolbox didn't change anything), reflashed and it's working now...only problem is swype, I swype my finger but it doesn't translate it to a word. Will have to search, cause I'm sure I saw a post from someone else with the same problem.

Any ideas on swype?

swype, I found it fixed itself when I long pressed on a text box and selected it from the popup menu.

themes for some apps, like twitter and miren browser only worked if I first uninstalled the ones I had.

my one minor problem is in inverted twitter. a reply to me has a white background. not really much.

otherwise, quite happy.

rooted, on liberty 2.0.1, slightly oc'd

update - problems solved.

Have to post this for anyone still having troubles, try this:
Wipe and clear, then restore a backup from lib 1.5 (any from before the problems occoured should be fine). Now from this backup, install/update to latest toolbox. Then run the liberty 2.0.1 update at the prompt for update. Do a wipe clear again, and update to new rom. This has solved all of my issues so far. Aside from the sticking landscape problem with the launcher but this seems unrelated to the other problems we had been having.
