OK, maybe I'm missing something. Why would you buy the R2-D2 D2 phone and then want to install custom ROMs (or Kernals)? Isn't the whole purpose behind getting this phone to have the Star Wars rom/kernal (I'm still not sure what it's called - some say ROM, some say Kernal). I've rooted my phone only to get rid of bloatware and to access wireless tether - not to mess up the sole purpose of spending the extra money for the phone.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

The media dock, the chassis that isn't dull black, and that fun feeling of having a special edition of something. Not to mention the subtle design fixes with this batch of D2's (keyboard slide, power button springiness, etc).
I thought I'd keep the star wars stock rom, but when I got the phone, I was underwhelmed with both the SW wallpaper and (especially) the apps.
