Does anyone think this second gmail account issue is related to a corrupted sd card? Perhaps that is why only some of us have the problem.

You know, I think I will try this before I go to bed tonight, so far I think myself and one other are the only ones having these issues, I think we have both tried every combo of ways to install this rom and none have worked.

I am just going to pull the card after initial flash / boot. I have only a 8gb in my droid, I have a 4gb laying around if the phone wont boot nakked.

EDIT - Flashing 10.22 v5 with a different SD card fully formatted and the .zip the only thing on it. After installation tried to add a account again and got the same soft reboot.

Pulled the SD and booted without, same problem when adding a 2nd account.

However I have found a roundabout solution,

Settings / Personal / Accounts & sync / Add account works

This is exactly what I can't do. This choice in recovery gives me an error message. I think the whole sd card needs to be formatted.

I'm afraid if I do the whole card format that I might make a mistake.

If you haven't partitioned your SD card you will get the error. If you want the partition you have to wipe you entire SD card. I did my partition through Rom Manager. I don't think this is your problem. If you read my previous post, this issue belongs to MIUI and will be fixed in this weeks update.

Is there an advantage to doing this format? Will it help the phone run better in your opinion?

I don't think it should effect your performance, I'm no expert though. Someone like Zero Barrier would know more about that.

Performance of Micro SDHC Cards will only be affected by it's class (class 2 cards will write at a peak of 2MB/s, class 4 will write at a peak of 4MB/s and so on). Re-partitioning and reformatting your card won't affect performance. Creating an EXT partition on your card is only really ever used for Apps2EXT (ext2, ext3, ext4) and/or Swap space (Linux Swap).

If you feel your card would benefit from a good clean format (corrupt data, etc), then I recommend using either the MicroSD formatter v2.0:

SD Formatter 2.0 for SD/SDHC - SD Association

Or the MicroSD formatter v3.0:

SD Formatter 3.0 (Beta) for SD/SDHC/SDXC - SD Association

Take your pick, they both perform their functions properly.

oh thats how i always add a second account thats why i wasnt having the issue. i always add all accounts in the accounts and settings its easier cause i can just add my facebook twitter and last.fm accounts all in the same place.

This is by far the fastest and most stable version of MIUI to date. I had some issues with some of the other roms, but this one is supurb. Trusted it enough to put on my wifes phone. Good job guys.

Only question I have is how to dial *228+ I see the + symbol on the phone is for 0, does this mean I dial *2280? When I do I get a "Call cant be completed from Verizon" - Am I doing it wrong?

I'm on the verge of installing it on my wife's phone but I'm going to wait for the weekend before I do.


Does anyone know of a way to get alerts when a new email arrives in a label other than inbox? In an effort to minimize clutter I have certain emails bypass the inbox and go straight to a custom label. It's great for keeping things tidy but sucks when I overlook an important email.

If you are using Gmail then you don't need to worry about this. When Gmail labels new incoming mail using a filter you set up, it still lands in your inbox. All mail labeled or not will always land in your inbox.

Edit: It also stays in your inbox until you delete it, or archive it. Just make sure your filters don't have the "Skip inbox (archive it)" option selected.

There lies the problem, I use "Skip Inbox" and use my inbox to manage general / junk email and send stuff from from known senders to specific folders / labels. I have a couple of kids that seem to be involved in everything and it's nice to be able to somewhat automatically sort email based on activity. If I let everything go to the inbox it will get cluttered real fast. I guess I could read the email and change labels afterward but that seems a little tedious.

Only fix is to use Titanium backup or something similar to back your apps up before you flash then restore me through there later..probably this is tied into the whole "verizon tab not showing" bug

As much as I hate flashing and setting up my phone I love MIUI a little bit more, so I spent the last 3 hours getting v.5 setup (luckily I've done it so many times that I can do it with my eyes closed)

Love the UI overhaul in the settings and lockscreen, I really liked the way it looked before but this is even better.

Zen, mO, thanks for getting this to us, this is the only rom I've been running for a few weeks now.

Got it all setup now, with Slayhers 1.25 and LauncherPro. So far so good, highest Quadrant scores I have had on any ROM so far...clockingin at mid 1500's.

And the free space internally...WOW! 114MB free after I re-installed all of my apps. I only had about 30MB with Lithium Mod. Either you guys have trimmed it way down, or I had alot of bloat and texts. Either way...great ROM so far.
