Often imitated, never duplicated! Focused 1.8.6

So my battery issues continue. My phone was at 100% when i went to bed last night. When I got up it was at 80%. After 2 brief phone calls my phone is at 50%. I would love for someone to help me with this or for it to be addressed. As it is this ROM is nonfunctional for me =(. Maybe ill try the new Blurry or go back a version =(. Im very upset about this.

Its most likely not the ROM but how/what you have installed. I have been running this ROM since release along with all the previous version with EXCELLENT battery life.

You need to tell us what exactly you did when you installed it and how your phone is set up.

PS- Have you tried using your phone completely stock for a few days to see if you still have battey issues? It could even be your battery.
Haha, I was ready to say basically the same thing...I'm experiencing excellent battery life, I did nothing special, I applied 1.8.6 over 1.6 only wiped cache...I deleted ADW and otherwise made no changes...I've been off charge now since 7am and I'm at 90%...so 3.5 hours...I'm sure some who've done tweaks/etc. have better batt life, but 1.8.6 is proving the best life since I bought the X.

Another thing I wanted to mention, I'm thinkin his phone may be picky with the rom, mine gives me Handcent issues regardless whatever I did on SSX (even after sbf), but nobody else could reproduce the issues, and the issue was only present on SSX... just a thought...

I have run every version of both Drods ROMS since release and had excellent battery life. Prior to this I had just SBF my phone. I have installed this ROM 2x now, with the second time deleting data and cache again, daevlik, battery sats. I have no themes installed. The second time I installed I manually installed my apps from market. So, any insights?
thanks

Your phone may just not agree with this ROM?

Also, MAYBE you have a bad download of the ROM, you could try redownloading it and reinstalling again.

How do I get into the files on my phone if I download something or if I put something on it from my computer I cant find it like how it was on the old stock os.

root explorer or astro file manager. Astro is free but root explorer is well worth the money.

what are the differences bewtween fission and focused? loving fission to death but am a flash junkie. keep up the good work!

Ive been unplugged for 2 1/2 hours (not long) but have sent a few txts, made a few phone calls and such....and am still showing 100% battery.

The first full day I was running the ROM I was at around 70% after 12 hours of use. Making calls and texting with some playing inbetween.

I also run overclocked medium voltage @ 1.45ghz, performance governer. I could underclock and get even better battery life ;)

how the heck do you do that?

you must have one of the magical ones. mine probably goes down to 90% after 15 minutes of use.... i may have to reset the battery stats again.

ALSO: What do you mean by few phone calls? I had one phone call that lasted a 1.5 hours, but usually are 5 minutes or less.

I can understand the battery life things there are some people like me who turn on their phone every 10 seconds to make sure everything works lol...

i have used mine non stop the last 2 days and havent gotten over 6 hours of full charge.

but thats with the screen on and other things running 70+ percent of the time.

anyways, anyone know if the *#*#4646#*#* works on this rom? It doesnt open anything up for me.

I can understand where you're coming from. I used to be one of the 10-12 hours of battery life people and thought that it was just because I used it a lot. With this ROM now running the tweaks discussed previously and wiping battery stats after a full charge, I'm sitting on 17 hours right now of my normal everyday use and my phone just hit 50% battery remaining. I've NEVER gotten that kind of performance out of it before. And I am constantly messing with my phone ALL DAY EVERY DAY. I'm addicted to just checking the market lol.

Ok so this is MESSED UP!!!!! I just nandroid back to a version that was literally just SBF and rooted. Now, I did not plug my phone in or anything and my battery says im at 80%...WTF!!!! SO, anyone have anything to add...lmao!!! Way wierd

p.s. i will charge fully and delete battery stats in a bit.

I just verified that my sysctl.conf _is_ being applied. I changed my dirty_ratio and my dirty_background_ratio in the file, rebooted, and now a cat proc/... of each shows the updated value.

Edit: Here's the problem (I think), JRummy's OC app wipes the install-recovery.sh before it writes to it. Drod has that file run the files in the init.d folder. One of the files in that folder (02vm or something) calls busybox to run the sysctl.conf file. Thus, after applying JRummy's OC app settings, sysctl.conf and the other files in the init.d folder aren't getting run. I've been getting around this by copying Drod's scripts back into install-recovery.sh after applying OC settings. I'm out now and can't post them right now but I'll do it when I get a chance if needed. Just pull up the focused zip on your computer, navigate to /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and you can find the scripts.

I am a n00b X owner preparing to install Rubix. A detailed list like this is essential, so thanks. I have a couple questions about the process I have, as I prepare to do "it all" from the ground up next week.

1. So many ways to root. I have to pick one.

2. Step 10 above "10. Link Google Account" - wont this auto-install all your apps that you have synced with Google? Should I disable/enable automatic application restore?
backup-restore.png

3. What 'tools" should I have at ready? So far I have:
- droidxbootstrap
- the rubix 1.8.6 rom
- droidxrootapp.zip
- rsdlite 4.8
- SBF 2.3.15 (matches my version)
- blackjuice rubix theme

What else should I DL now before I dive in?

Thanks, I am really looking forward to this.

Because I dont like going in and messing with programming unless I have to. I'm assuming that there will be a patch to fix syscontl.conf tweaks and dirty ratio and I wont have to go and fix these with the fixes posted in this thread.
Thanks

Just like with adding in the blur camera... I know this rom is meant to get rid of all the blur but basically the only thing I am missing out of this rom is the landscape function of the blur dialer/caller when I send/receive calls. Is it possible to recontent it like you can with the Fission blur camera and if so does anyone have a link?

Thanks

1. z4root

2. yes disable it... but it doesnt really make a difference because all it does is sync contacts and apps

your good to go...

i would also do a battery stat reset after the install...

make sure your phone has been charged to 100%
go to bootstrapper
start in recover
go to advanced on the bottom of list
clear battery stats
