rubiX Focused 1.6

Try Vignette for your camera replacement! It's worth the money. Lots of filters and options, plus you get back your 8MP wide setting. Then it doesn't matter what rom you run, you can always use the same camera. Also download 'button shortcut' so you can assign the camera button to the Vignette app.

I love it! GL!

Question, I know that the point of focused is to get rid of all the blur but the ONE thing keeping me from going focused is the lack of the awesome blur camera and the HDMI support. Is there a way I can add this in as the sole blur feature or is someone working on making the AOSP stuff able to output HDMI?

Thanks

@ScottyDsntKnow: How's Fiona? ;)

Crappy blur camera is available via Unofficial and Unsupported Patch here (compliments of the Fission team):

Noting of course, that the only features that the Blur camera has that the AOSP camera doesn't, are 6MP Wide Screen, Panorama Assist, and ... I think when recording video, control over which mics are being used. Pretty sure those are the only things missing from AOSP camera... :P

HDMI isn't likely to work with Focused any time soon, due to the BLUR Framework requirements, which no longer exist in Focused. Perhaps it can be patched in, but not until someone figures out exactly which components are required to do so....

Update guys, I think I pinpointed the HDMI fix, but it will be a week or two before I fix it.

I tried the AOSP camera when i was on 1.6 for a few days (before I realized I had no HDMI out) and the quality was never as good plus super wide camera has really snagged some great pics for me. If I can run focused 1.6 with the HDMI fixed as hopefully drod (in all his amazingness) figured it out and install the blur camera or one comparable from the market then I will probably jump back to Focused from Apex.

edit: The "crappy blur camera" got some amazing pics and videos this weekend on the sidelines at the Giants game although those scrubs epic failed as usual. Never had a phone that took such clear, crisp pictures as well as awesome video. Again, the AOSP camera was a little grainy for some reason. If there is a camera on the market that is as good or better I would consider it over the blur camera tho...

So I should use appBrain for my apps right, and just let it reload my apps back on my phone, or is that not the right app to use for this? Please understand that I am really new to all of this, just trying to better understand all of this. :)

Again thanks for your help!! :)

I do use Appbrain. So before I install a ROM or anything, all of my apps are sync'd with Appbrain, and are just a couple clicks away... But Google Data Sync does most of the work...

After installing a ROM, the first time you open Market, Google Data Sync will attempt to install all of the apps that you had previously installed. (I highly recommend setting up WiFi before turning on Market, so it goes much faster...)
During this time, if you search for an app that you previously had installed, the market will show it's downloading, and appear to be stalled.. it's just in queue to be downloaded/installed, and eventually they will install... so you will not want to reboot, etc. while it's happening.

That's my understanding anyway. HTH.

I liked the "no tabs" or "missing “Glass” slider" for the call sliders from 1.0. Is there any possibility to bring this back in the next release, or at least make it an option somehow? I thought it was slick.

It can be themed that way... Just need to replace the slider images in framework-res.apk...

Does anyone know what the cool contact shortcut is in this ROM? I love the one touch on a contact widget to see the slide out.

Not sure if this is what your asking, but the contact shortcut on this rom is the same as it was on the D1... a 1 touch that slides out shortcuts to text the contact, see contact profile, call contact, see contact's Facebook, etc...

Is there a way to go back to the original keyboard that comes with this ROM and have voice to text enabled?

I've always hated that the multi-touch keyboard doesn't correct simple words like im to I'm or il to I'll, and then whenever you type a symbol it puts it next to the last letter typed so you have to go back and put a space between them. (example: If I type "It's $4.00" it automatically removes the space between the s and the $ symbol so it looks like this It's$)

Pretty sure the keyboard that's stock with Focused 1.6 is the AOSP keyboard.
Give this a shot:

I use swype, so really easy for me to get them all mixed up. :S
HTH!

I just installed this and it works great. Thanks!

Definitely going to check this out! Thanks!

the picture below was taken with vinigette, no focusing or settings changes were made (I have no idea what settings were even used) my gf and I were walking down to the beach, pulled on the X, clicked vinigette ....snapped the picture really quick then put the phone in my pocket...this is how it turned out

not to shabby :)

I've got the vignette demo, I'll have to gander at it to see how it works. Hopefully it has the super duper wide panoramic that the Blur camera has. If not I can always install the blur camera apparently. Apex has started crashing on me about once a day. I attributed it to my overclock but even at stock settings it is still doing it. It reboots really fast but the other day it did it right in the middle of using the X as a GPS and I had to pull over and then find that I missd 2 turns. Not acceptable so I'm switching once again to focused 1.6 to see what happens. I'm holding out hope that drod gets the HDMI working in focused although if I really REALLY need it for whatever reason I can always backup and then flash back to apex or stock froyo temporarily.
