Often imitated, never duplicated! Focused 1.8.6

Just installed..so far so good...however one question...the changelog stated Drod added a 3G hotspot app....not really finding that one? Only thing I see is WiFi tether for root users and that is an app I have had since I rooted my phone or is this the app he added and because I already had it installed it doesnt appear new?
I was just about to part this same question. I even tried installing TBH 3G app via clockwork

How are people keeping their apps from wipe to wipe, or having the market auto download them when you install a new rom. I can never get that to work..

This is your best rom yet. Beats any rom out there. My DX is worth having because of your work. Thanks :icon_ banana::icon_ banana::icon_ banana::icon_ banana:

Lock screen isn't centered that how its suppose to be ASOP style? No biggie just noticed it. Seems awesome so far!

Yes, the framework was edited to match those settings from AOSP.

kejar31 and AngDroid pointed that out to me, that that was the generic look, didn't realize it till I played with my old OG Droid and my girlfriends G2, figured i'd change it :)

Great rom, updated first thing when I got home!

Can anyone elaborate on the memory tweaks? I was using Autokiller before but uninstalled it and am just curious as to what's been done

This Rom rocks! I added BlackBar-Sephtin-v3.1 and I'm loving it so far. I love the battery icon this way, would rather it be blue but other than that it's perfect. I love the droid guy in the notifications pulldown. I love the fact that it has hardly any apps like Facebook, twitter etc. installed. There's lots to LOVE about this ROM! Good job!

Just installed it!
Android version 2.2.1 nowwwwww
I was reading rumors about that version unrooting your Droid, but I guess not?
Also, anyone know the change log from 2.2 to 2.2.1?

I'm sure the official OTA from VZW will remove root, and probably cause lots of headaches in the Droid X modding/hacking community.

To confirm, to udpate to the OTA, it's almost certain that you'll have to reset all files to stock anyway (via .sbf)... It also does a number on limiting what can be changed on the device...
Just my recommendation, give it a week or two once a new OTA comes out, to let the community figure out what you're getting before installing... :P

So does that mean the 2.2.1 provided from rubiX 1.8.6 is a leaked version?
If so, then would the 2.2.1 update still be pushed to my device OTA?

Well, for starters, the ROM contains parts of 2.2.1.
And to hopefully answer your second question (because I'm not quite certain what you're asking...).... OTA updates come in the form of patches. They verify that the files they expect to be there match first, and then patch them. The ONLY way anyone is going to update via OTA, is to .SBF first. You need to be stock to update via OTA.

On that note... I STRONGLY suggest.. that when the OTA becomes avaialble, that everyone give it a week or two, to let devs figure things out..
Personally, I'd MUCH rather keep running ROMs based from the SDK and vanilla components, than update and be locked into BLUR.

HTH.

drod ur the man

quick questions... i'm a little hesitant about 2.2.1... i thought that the leaked version had a lot of problems. How much of it did you put into this rom?

for instance:

The definitely isn't as clean of a release that TBH is known for (hey, we're all human after all ^_^). After poking through the zip, I found that Superuser and 'su' are not found where they belong, yet SuperOneClick seems to think its still rooted and refuse to work. I'm sure a manual root process would have more success, but I'm too lazy.

Another thing is media doesn't work. MP3s and MP4 video won't play at all. Some are saying that switching the StageFright settings in the build.prop to "true" fixes this, but there are still issues with YouTube and the camera saving corrupted files.

This release seems far from ready. Maybe TBH can work through it and clean up some of it up, figure out why its working properly for them but significant problems for a lot of us. For now, I would avoid this thing until they figure out what's going on.

Back to Blurry it is!

and i think the leak was taken down afterward and people were told to stay away from it...

drod can you ease my mind about 2.2.1 being included?
