OTA Updates Possible Before The 11th?

Yeah it would have been nice to get the update early and if the update.zip comes out somehow then I'll be all over it but if I have to wait, its not a big deal.

They are doing this EARLY so that they can have it to everyone by the 11th. If they started on the 11th like everyone thought then some wouldn't get it until the 12th, 13th, 14th, etc. They are doing this the smart way, everyone will have it by the date that they told us we would.

Thats the "problem" with a forum like this. We know everything beforehand and have knowledge of things that most people have no clue about : ) They probably don't care neither.

Most users will get the notification and be like "WTH is this?" Reboot their phone and see a new lock screen and not know what the heck went on : ) Not that they are dumb but generally they just don't care.

So I'm just going to sit back and wait. When it comes it comes. My device runs perfectly, I barely use the camera, I don't use exchange and I like the currrent lockscreen. So I'm set : )

Yeah there is NOTHING about my phone currently that makes me constantly think "damn I can't wait for that update to fix XXXX". I love my phone. The update will be nice when it comes. Until then I'm good to go :D

My colleague just received the update about 45 minutes ago. We're in Charlotte.

Hmm that kind of debunks the theory of the release schedule.

yeah I was skeptical about the release schedule in the first place.

Didn't make sense. Only 1000 on the first day and we have a lot of people here that already have it. The odds of that happening are slim to none : )

I think it's just going to be a steady stream of pushing out the updates throughout the next few days.

Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

I compeely agree with you on this. The general public doesn't care to know. I also love my phone the way it is. When it gets here good. Until it gets here it's still good.

does being on a wifi conection help with the update process, what can you expect when your droid receives the ota upgrade as far as any notifications ext.
