Few Showers Tonight (60s with strong weekend T-storms?) | StarTribune.com

Storm Prediction Center Severe Weather Summaries

Those 2 links helped me understand tornadoes quite well and i am also a weather junkie myself along with being a gearhead haha but i also think the tornado number has increased since about 2009 pretty steady. You can that trend on some of the NOAA maps in those links. Your right about the number increasing though.

Also not much ice out that way is it princess? cant help but grab it when its falling from the sky haha

weather patterns here has gotten weird here. lots of southerly winds with low pressure is not good. we are still experiencing thunder storms periodically, flooding, and yes we did get mild hail warnings. but haven't seen any. global warning is def at its worst.

Thanks for those weather articles...got a" scare" here the other nite..listening to late nite radio mostly asleep when the caution signal came on and said to take cover that a tornado was coming. I jumped out of bed and grabbed my little dog and then I realized that the station that I was listening to was a streamlink from georgia! I'm glad I live in connecticut!

Wow it's really been terrible down in nc and thruout the tornado area in the south. Our thoughts prayers and sympathies to those who have lost loved ones recently due to the tornadoes. My husband and I have made a donation to the red cross which as always jumps in to help with blood and medical supplies as well a blankets and needed comfort items that people need when everything is gone. Chevy, you re from nc aren't you? Are there any other organizations that are helping out down south that we could support? Hope all is well with you and your family. How interesting that the forum was focusing on weather lately!!

Hey there Red its been a while since i have been on but there are a few volunteers helping out and there are a couple church groups that are helping out with the support of the people affected. I wasnt managing school and 2 jobs i would have gone and helped atleast sawing trees or something. It is crazy how the weather systems have been and how the atmosphere has been so unstable lately. I guess as people learn about technolgy they start discovering more and more about weather but you are right tho cause it seems as people are noticing and studying the weather more than ever

dancedroidHi Chevy, sure looks like you have quite enough on your plate already just being you! Gotta give you credit for keeping so busy and getting it all done. We were in Lowes over the weekend in Pennsylvania visiting for the holiday (happy Easter) and they were collecting for the people down south who had been affected by the storms (that helps Lowes..they're like home depot) so we hope thatpeople are getting what they need. I think Lowes was matching the customers donations so that seemed like a good idea. Yes we're all very focused on weather...funny since we can't really do anything about it except to get insurance and 4 wheel drive trucks up here in the winter. My favorite truck that I had was my chevy suburban 1988. I had it till last Feb when I donated it to an organization that helped families in need....but I cried when they towed it away! Anyway, nice talking to you and stay safe and get some rest (lol)

:icon_ banana::icon_ banana::icon_ banana: cjm, do you think chevy would still talk to me if he was told that I have a Ford Expedition now? It was a matter of getting a zero percent loan on the Ford or not being able to get any loan on a new chevy truck that was unavailable in the model I wanted. I like the Ford, but my heart was in my Chevy truck and always will be!

I think so:) I sold my chevy for a dodge and he still talks to me.
