Post Your Weather Pictures

Definitely have to respect mother nature. So far, this has been a record breaking year for tornadoes.

@CJM: wind can def be powerful. I have seen it at the house in Atlantic Beach for myself. Its the parents house down there and I have seen everything from water spouts to hurricanes and from white-out snow conditions to local forest fires down there. Tend to see a lot when you grow up always goin down to the beach. Sometimes just to see the weather too tho.

@Gray: wow I hope that's not you effected there in that pic. It does seem there are a lot more tornadoes this year than I ever remeber. It really has been a record breaking year I believe.

@Red: I don't believe its just the thread makin you pay attention or notice the weather but I believe its just the fact that the weather is so well covered and documented/studied now that its hard not to notice. I also really think one major factor of noticing that the weather is becoming more unstable is because it actually is and the weather patterns are becoming more severe.

Also thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that has been effected by the tornadoes this week

Hope you didn't get any damage with that hail, poontab. I've seen what it can do to vehicles.

@Poon: can't believe all the hail that's been falling with these storm systems lately. Hope the dents are fixable also.

These are some images that I took just before the storms rolled into Rocky Mount

Dang poontab, that's the 2nd time I've seen you've been without power for a while. I think the last time was during the winter. When a big hurricane hits us, we loose power like that. Glad you're up and running.

Oh I went off on the power company. They act like any *weather at all equals Katrina type chaos.

I've only been here a little while but so far 2 small storms have made me lose power for almost a week each time.

I get fiber optics tv & internet from the power company here & told them I would prorate my own payment if they didn't comp me .... because I'm staying in a hotel..... I gotta stop. I'm getting pissed off just thinking about it.

Here's some more fuel: We where working for MS power(a Southern Company) building a power plant once. Well, they were behind in paying the contractor, we were just a sub-contractor. That meant their employees were close to not getting paid. Which meant they wouldn't make their bills, like the power bill. Had it come down to that, do you think they would've understood, I doubt it. It's funny when the tables are turned how expectations are different.

Hi poontab, chevy, and cjm..been thinking about all of you during this last bunch of bad weather along with all of those unfortunate folks in the Tuscaloosa area who lost their homes and family members. It makes me so sad to hear about all their suffering. I just hope the powers that be ( government) myare generous with their support to help the under insured get loans and aid so that they can rebuild their homes and their lives as best as they can. My son works for Aetna ins co.(they only do health, not property and casualty) but they do hear the latest news thru industry sources and he said this kind of wide spread damage by tornadoes us the second worst in history. And have you heard about the dilemma in Cairo Indiana on the Mississippi where they have to decide whether to make a hole in the levee somewhere on the river so that Cairo doesn't flood like the 9
th ward in New Orleans. The problem is that they want to make the hole in a farm area where we grow a lot of this nations food. I don't know what they'll decide but today I heard they were evacuating that town in Indiana as a precaution. Stay safe you all!

@poon: Hope that power gets restored soon there

@red: we will try our best to stay safe here in NC and yall be safe out there. Also lets hope it doesnt flood like the 9th ward. That really wouldnt be too good.

@cj: your "here's some more fuel" post is true and its always diff when the tables are turned isnt it? haha
