Oh yea you know it Red. That 0% loan def helps out and can't say that the old suburban wasn't a gas hog. We gotta do what we gotta do to make it but atleast you didn't just scrap it, you actually put it to good use. Props for that. Hope y'all doin good

About the only time I drive something other than chevy is when I gotta friends cars/trucks or driving GMC.

One thing about the coast, the southernly winds tend to blow storms to our north. We've been having 15-20mph winds with gust up to 35. Hwy 90 that runs along the beach is cover in beach sand. Looks more like pig trails than a highway.

Pretty steady wind right there. Also i know exactly what your talking about with the highway looking like pig trails. The highways out near Cape Hatteras look like that every time a hurricane comes through until they get pushed

:icon_ banana: Yeah I'll never forget my suburban...speaking of storms...My son was in his last year of college and playing his last game of hockey for the season and I used to go to central New York State every other weekend to watch him play (about 3 1/2 hours away ) The weather man called for a blizzard and we already had a foot of snow in connecticut at 11 am and I wasn't supposed to get off till 3. The game was at 7pm and the other team was already on campus since the previous day so no cancellation was gonna happen. My boss let me go at 11 and said I was crazy! The roads were terrible with lots of accidents and everyone was skidding around. It was even worse up near college. I got into town and the road into college was blocked by a police car that had skidded into a ditch. The officer had me go around him across a frozen pond and a snow covered field but I got there on time and in one piece! Took me 7 hours but after coaching and watching my son play 14 years of hockey, I wasn't gonna miss his last game for a little snow! :icon_ banana:

A little New Hampshire update, finally had the last bit of snow melt off here a couple weeks ago! An extremely snowy winter here, so glad it's done with. This week the grass went from dormant to alive and growing at a rate I have never seen grass grow. It's amazing how fast everything comes back to life when you get some rain and warm weather.

Wow Red that is a crazy trip there. I feel you on not missing your sons game though also. A 7 hour drive in the some beautiful back country is a lot better than a 7 hour drive in city traffic haha

Yeah chevy, I know what you mean..I grew up in the Bronx and learned to drive in NYC. Highway driving sinks. Love New England and its weather and driving in big snow storms. That driving story was in my suburban. Don't know if I would have tried it in my Expedition. Haven't had that depth of snow since I got the Ford in 2003. Be careful out there...Did you hear about the latest tornadoes in Arkansas? There were a number of folks who died and a man who covered his wife and child with his body during the storm and some how they were all ok. I think tornadoes and earthquakes are the scariest weather events.

Heres a picture of Biloxi beach. Looks like they cleared the roads. On the news you could barely the highway. You can still see the amount of sand on the edge of the road.

Did that sand get on the road from flooding or tornadoes, cjm? That must cost your town a lot of money to have to keep putting the sand back where it belongs and its not great for your transmission to go over a lot of it. I ruined the transmission on my first car a72 le Mans 32 miles after the warrantee was done by driving over sand, so I have a healthy respect for the damage it can do.

Couldn't get into the weather video you sent...it was about a north Alabama tornado that killed people....maybe the channel just keeps on going past what you intended me to see. Anyway its amazing what wind can do, even without being a tornado...also it seems as though this season has many more tornadoes than in other years (or am I just paying more attention because if this thread?)

I know this isn't the weather per se, but it is what the weather can do. This is an area in Arkansas that got hit.
