[ROM] [RELEASE] Steel Droid: 5.0 Gingerbread - 1-11-2013

First things first, thanks for all of your great work, Chevy (and others).

Second, I need to have my phone synced to my corporate account. I am able to do that and have it sync my calendar, and give me email notifications, but I am unable to read emails without the app. Where can I get this app at? Not sure which one from a system dump it is.

Thanks

I'm not seeing any instructions on how to add the add-ons. Can you point me to some instructions somewhere?

1. Go to 1st post
2. Click on Add-on of choice and let it download
3. Place zip on root of SD card
4. Boot into Recovery and make a backup then Flash the zip
5. Reboot
6. ????
7. Profit

Isnt that the process for flashing the actual ROM. Isnt each add-on just an application that runs on the ROM? I always figured flashing implies it will replace the operating system with what you are flashing over it. So i would expect flashing an add-on in place of the whole ROM would either 1) simply not work or 2) leave you with an unbootable system.

It works because i downloaded all of them with no problem.

When you flash app's it does the process of putting them in /system and setting permissions. You see the flashable .zip process can be used to apply anything from whole roms, to themes, to apps. It's a multi-tool of sorts.

Lol Sorry if I came across as callous, I often forget that not everyone is on the same level when it comes to root and all the stuff you can do with it.

well thanks for the answer, ill be applying these later today!

The charge animation seems to stop around 90% (I noticed at 95%). Not sure if that's intentional.

Artifacts are appearing on the notification bar. When the numbers on the clock change, the signal meters and charge meter shift positions. When they shift right (the clock shrinks, e.g. changing from 12:59 to 1:00), they leave artifacts, sort of like shadows, in their previous positions on the left. When they shift left (the clock grows, e.g. changing from 1:01 to 1:02), the artifacts seem to be cleaned up.
can someone confirm these bugs? I would love to flash this rom but those are the current dealbreakers...

The animation stops, but the charge meter still increments, so it's not a big deal since you still have an accurate charge reading.

After keeping an eye on it, the artifacts are really only noticable for that change from 12:59 to 1:00. Otherwise, the clock stays pretty much the same width, so you'll never notice it. The new font exacerbates the problem a bit since it seems to have wider characters. I haven't noticed it at all after switching back to the stock font.

I'm seeing the artifacts as well, but it isn't that big of a deal. They only stay temporarily. It almost looks as if its supposed to be displaying a 3D graphics, if that makes any sense. In no way a deal breaker for me because, so far, this system is running well. Smooth and faster than standard Moto ROM.

As far as the battery increments, I noticed this BEFORE I flashed this ROM. I had flashed the 1% increments mod on the stock ROM and it would sometimes only get up to 98% before it would stop and say it was charged. I think it is a minor bug in the actual stock ROM that carried over, since it wasn't developed with 1% increments in mind, it was never caught....at least, this is my humble assumption. Could be wrong.

Eh, screw it. I'll flash it anyway. If i dont like it.... well thats what nandroids are for :)

You won't regret it!

Hmm yeah mine now stops at 97. Last night it stopped at 99. Bummer.

Sounds like there are little to no bugs in the version, very excited for it.

Just a few questions, can someone please define some of the adons?
Some are pretty obvious, but others not so… suggestions and rules checker? Updaters (update what)? Photo and video editors? And is the visual voicemail the stock one that you have to pay for?
