Download is technically "doable" they just don't want to do it. The DRM issues and licensing rules make it really complex.

I once interviewed Rhapsody for my podcast I'm pretty familiar with the inner workings. Did you know that they pay an artist 2c per download and 1c per stream

I'm having a bigger issue with the licensing crap right now. My library took quite a hit. I am still assessing the damage. Might be enough for a complete 180 on my endorsement of the service

Hmmm., interesting... I've noticed this a few times and never really thought anything of it.

All in all the service is pretty solid IMO, and if a couple songs or artists go missing that I need that bad, I'm sure there's other avenues to get it.

Not perfect, but some things are just out of their control unfortunately, and I understand that.

Is having Rhapsody worth it? I got into the beta but im debating on signing up for it.

It depends on how you listen to music. If you like to listen to everything, whenever you want, and have a device that it works on (To Go or client) then it's great. If you like to buy an album listen to it 100 times and keep it forever then less so. People worry about "losing" the music when they leave Rhapsody but you can always buy it then or get it from someplace else.

If you're a big music listener then it's well worth it.

Seems to work just as well as it does on Itouch. Album art...check. Saved online playlists/library...check.

This only supports streaming, though (just like the i-thingy). To actually download, your Droid/phone would need to be "Plays for Sure" capable. Also, the downloaded Rhapsody music is DRM protected.

Even so, this is really sweet.

Got my invite and it's a 7 day trial..... So much for it being beta and getting a few weeks to try it..It's also streaming..... I don't think I'm gonna like this..
