[ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

This may be a dumb question, but is this the newest version? Difficult to tell, as Fab doesn't have his own subforum (which I'm thinkin he deserves!) And is there a theme I could lay on this?

I've read a recommendation to try Apex, evidently it's very awesome!

Well...I tried it out, and I found it to be very cool indeed, thougg slighty less smooth/zippy than Focused...but I had to go back to focused, as Handcent wouldn't send MMS on Apex...I had this issue with SSX also...when sending MMS via Handcent, it just keeps showing the spinner, and the message never sends...other than breaking Handcent,I love it...so...if that can be fixed, I'll convert to an Apex user

Wow, this is true, i just tried it. However, i think it is more likely an issue with handcent+2.3.320 than with the roms...

On wifi, 3G doesn't kick on when you try and send an mms.

I don't know what you mean about wifi, I did not have wifi on... anyhow...Handcent works fine on Focused, and it works fine on stock as well...the only time I've had the issue is on SSX and Apex... I really hope there can be a fix, as I was definitely liking Apex alot...it is a great rom!

Ok, gotcha...but why is it that this only happens with certain roms? I don't think it's Handcent causing the issue either...something about the rom AND Handcent together isn't meshing correctly...I've already jumped back to my Focused nandroid, so could you test Chomp for me? If that works, I suppose I would make due until a Handcent begins to work...lol although I gotta admit, I'm pretty much set on Handcent... so I really really hope to get this worked out...

Strange...same thing happened on SSX, except that Chomp somehow caused every MMS to come in double...not double notification but actually doubled the MMS, both in itself and in stock message until chomp was uninstalled... well, looks like I'll have to try it out once again

I'm loving the new transitions and other tidbits in this Rom, very nice. I've tried Dark Slide 2 and 3, and came from Rubix 1.8.6 to this one.

The one thing I see missing is Corp. email support. Not the "Sync" version, there's normally a Corp. email option in My Accounts, that looks like a white box. I use my X for my work email also so I need this. I didn't see anything in the extra blur APKs either, but granted it might just be named something different.

Can you help?

I tried doing that and it says Failed no such file or directory for MMS.apk However i am the cause of this sadly i bought Jrummys Root Tools app and went to scroll through the section of "deleting system apps" well i went to slide the screen down and just clicked on remove MMS.apk needless to say it removed it is there anyway of getting it back? i need to be able to send and receive pictures

Oh! No wonder Handcent isn't sending MMS, it needs the default app there to work! You just need to disable notifications in the default app so you don't get double.

Easily fixed though. Go back to the .zip file you downloaded to install the ROM, and open it on your computer w/ winzip or similar app. Just navigate to /system/app and find Mms.apk. You can just drag it out of the archive to unzip it.

Then, place that Mms.apk on your sdcard (not in any folders) and in terminal:

su
install Mms.apk

And you should be set!

Yeah i had everything setup perfect (disabled notifications from the stock text messaging app ect.) i just accidentally clicked mms.apk to be uninstalled on Jrummys Root Tools app, Wish it had a screen asking "Are you Sure you want to delete this".

Fab, You didn't get a chance to comment on Themes for this Faboulous Rom..I actually deleted all those other roms on my DX..This one is just that good. It's different from the others. MIUI (if ever ported ) will be the next rom I install aside from an apex update..

He said that he can't theme right now because the power in his house isn't functioning in the room where his desktop is and that once he's able to use his desktop he will start themeing.
