[ROM] ApeX for Droid X - An AOSP Experience

Fab you are the man!

Made it over 7 hours and still 60% power, so power problems are solved.

Also, guess i am a lucky one as i am able to do the 1.3 ghz Overclock! This thing is blazing and no freezes yet!
Thanks again.

I have tried rubix (both versions) and flyx and this blows them away with everything working flawlessly and having speed (they had speed but at the expense of missing too many functions i needed, not ot mention crashing.)

Whewwww right you are fab, thanks man.

No, it's because you need to do a factory reset.

ApeX ROM was working just fine for me until I tried to update theme to Incognito's Red Blurless; it would get stuck on the customized boot animation "Android" with Incognito's customized notification bar. So I decided to SBF back to stock 2.2 (which has worked for me many times before) but after several flashes, it's always the same results: boot loops at the stock Droid Eye boot animation. Also, RSDlite says under status, "Please manually power up this phone", even though under progress it says, "Executed: 100%".

I think this problem is due to the overclocking script, which I did turn on using terminal emulator when I had the ApeX ROM up and running. The SBF must not have flashed correctly in the overclocked condition it was in. Does anyone have a solution to this or know how to eliminate the overclock script??

I think you're going to need to disable my overclocking profile. In terminal emulator:

su
overclock -off
reboot

For anyone trying to get back their Backupassistant. You need to make sure that these apk's are in the root of your sd card. android-syncservice-app.apk , BackupAssistanceClient.apk , BuaContactAdapter.apk.

Once those are in the root of the SD, go into terminal emulator and type

su
install android-syncservice-app.apk

install BackupAssistanceClient.apk

install BuaContactAdapter.apk

not sure if the last one is necessary but it didnt work until I installed the android-syncservice-app.apk.

Instead of installing backup assistant you should go to backup assistant on verizon wireless.s page and export your contacts to .csv, then import those to gmail. This way they're tied to your gmail which you have to use for android anyway and you don't need a second app. They still sync.

Fab I'm getting fc on battery manager statistics section using nextheme. It only happens sometimes but when it does happen I can't get it open no matter how many times I try. Later in the day itll work again.

hi, im useing unstable apps, overclocking app.
i turned off the Apex oc in terminal
set it to 1.2 ghz @6.2v and keep getting freezing and reboots.
but when im on rubix .05 and run it at 1.2 ghz 6.2v it runs perfect,
anyone know if sbf then install to apex will fix this?

stuck at M logo despite following directions. came from ota 2.2.. battery pull didn't do anything.

it "boots" up because it does the whole vibrate thing, but no boot animation or home screen. :icon_eek:

Fab provided the default swype apk as well as the scripts to get it on there....

Simply take the default swype.apk from his second post, put it on your SD card, open up terminal emulator:

su
install swype.apk

To the guys talking about battery, its no surprise it changed... your entire statistics data was wiped during rom install.
