[ROM] [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

Dialer and density change

Note: i'm on a D2 but didn't see a posting in our forum, lol

Just a quick question, when I change my DPI from stock the dialer dies... doesn't show the FC screen just won't open and kills the phone radio for a split second (almost like turning on/off airplane mode)... anyone else experience this? and any ideas on how to fix it?

other dialer applications work (like dialerone or adialer) and the contacts open fine, just the stock dialer that seems to be having issues when i change DPI

Edit: absolutely love the rom... with or without the stock dialer working :D
The apex rom dialer has has never liked a screen density change. It will always crash. Sorry man but you have to leave it at 240.

I unplugged at 705am. It's now 9 pm. I still have 30% left and have been on it all day. Heavily. U sir have a battery problem. And I like the swype skin. I came from liberty also. Like this better.

I came from Liberty 1.5....and am now using ApeX 1.4.....anyone know why I still have the LIBERTY Boot Logo? How do I get rid of it? please help!!

This rom has great battery life. 21hrs and 41 minutes, and still 40% left with light use. My phone has never lasted this long before, not even with light use. I do have the extended life battery from Verizon. But still. Thanks fabulous for such a great rom! Donation coming.

Yea man, I am at 36+ hours and still 20% battery left. gotta love it

Can you guys please explain how you get so much battery life!? I have the extended battery and I'm lucky of I get 10-12 hours with moderate use.
I have to say that I too was only getting about 10-12 hours with moderate usage. The big difference came after wiping my battery stats.

I left my phone on the charger all night, and in the morning (after it had been fully charged, and still on the charger for several hours afterwards), I rebooted into recovery and cleared the battery stats.

I now unplug my phone about 5:30am, and at 9pm or 10pm when I plug it back in for the night, I'm still at 60-70% left.

Clearing the stats after letting it charge all night made all of the difference in the world for me.

Hope this helps.

I downloaded the boot logo changer from the markey for .99 you can probably find it for free Liberty had one in the tool box but ya gotta be on Liberty to use it

I have to agree with DroidBoi in saying everyones phone is unique and takes different set ups to maximize the use of the phone......for me I am running Apex 1.40 with LPP+ with 6 screens, about 5 widgets (3 lpp widgets in addition), I am overclocked to 1.15ghz at ULV with a steady temp between 19 to 30 degrees Celsius....and I just clocked my battery life which is currently at the minute about 30 percent battery on 23h 12m and 40s with medium and light use......3G on all day and music listenning.....so I advice everyone to find what works best on your phone....

PS I am on the stock battery I received my first day with the phone on August 15

Ok first problem...maybe....I was going to load my first theme downloaded it. I was going to boot into bootstrapper. Realized I didn't have the icon. Market made me buy again. No biggie...went to boot again got the android with triangle with exclaimation point. Tried a few things and a battery pulled work two times. Since I upped to 1.4 bootstrapper hasn't asked me to boot into it like 1.3.1.
Suggestions? I would really like to get strapper back working. Thanks.

*** nevermind found the problem...all is good in apex land...

Great job, Fabolous. However, I'm getting process system force closes every now and then. Last time was after I wiped battery stats and rebooted (it took place during the reboot). The time before that was when AppBrain was refreshing the installed apps. I've changed the battery status icon via the toolbox and have removed data throttling.

Is anyone else having this issue? Any fixes? Please don't tell me I have to reflash the ROM.

For all those that are interested, here is a solution to getting Skype to make calls over 3g in the US. First of all, thanks to OP (xeudoxus) for coming up with the solution a while back. I finally found it after a bit of searching.

NOTE: This version seems to have a problem syncing skype contacts with phone. If you are interested in having skype contacts on phone, you may run into FC's.

1) uninstall the skype you already have.
2) download and put this apk file on sdcard (skype 1.0)
3) install it with astro (or any other method you use)

thats it. Enjoy unlimited calling over 3g. Again thanks to OP!

Dialer not working....

Just had an unusual thing happen. Phone is texting just fine, but when I try to make a call, the dialer works, and call says it is connected, but neither the speaker on the handset or the speakerphone work.

The person I am calling says they can not hear me (called called them from my home phone) and I have switched back and forth from handset to speaker, also checked volume. It will disconnect after about 30 seconds. Have full bars. I even enabled and connected to wireless to see if it helped. No luck. Restarted phone also.

Any ideas?

Update - after several reboots and leaving phone off a few minutes, seems fine again. This is worrysome to me. Haven't had this issue before.

Hey, quick possibly dumb question.

Is is possible to get AOSP contacts installed? I can't find it anywhere within the toolbox, or in any release notes.
