Tlo, Am actually complete opposite of you w/Lib and My DX. Lib 1.5 and my DX are Best of Friends..Absolutely No issues at all. It goes to prove that no two DXs are the same and will certainly react differently w/roms..I will try Fab's new release just to cure my curiousity though..I know Fab puts out Fya w/these roms so am sure it'll be all good For Themes, I would love to see Tron, Big Crystal DX , or anything Teal or Metallic Blue..

yea i feel ya man. I Have done clean installs of liberty multiple times and nothings seems to help. I love liberty but i just have way to many issues on my X. But im glad now we have a good alternative. Fab did an amazing job i'd say

Just an Fyi..I SBFd w/the new Full 2.3.340, rerooted and loaded up LIb 1.5 and then it was all Gravy from there. I did the same w/Fab's and I couldn't agree more..Fab did a "FABOLOUS" job w/the update..Not a fan of Termulator though..Guess I'll just have to manage..I wish it was like the Liberty toolbox..

yea i did that same process with liberty before but i just had problems still. But everything seems to great with Apex.
And i kinda like the termulator mostly because of the progress bar on the downloads. But fab should def try to impliment something like the liberty toolbox. (Not complaining, just my opinion) great job Fab!

BTW, Not sure i'll need to OC but will Jrummy or Dx OC app work w/this rom or is Term the only way to tweek the OC feat?

I'm using Jrummy's oc app and it works fine. I only use that so I can easily set up custom settings, and his work is great, so I don't mind paying for the app to support his work.

Apex 1.4 is sweet so far. Installed the RC's right over 1.3.1 without wipe, but when the official came out, I did a full restore to stock using maderstock zip just to make sure I've got the full Apex experience...:icon_ banana:

Dang I had been rocking Apex 1.3.1 and used my sms to bluetooth on my car stereo when I drove. I tried out Liberty to see if I would like something new but it didn't work with my car stereo sms. I got no answers there so I came back to Apex 1.3.1 and BANG I get sms with my car stereo again. Now bonus Apex 1.4 and no more sms over my car stereo.

Any advise on what to replace to make it work again???

Just a quick question, when I change my DPI from stock the dialer dies... doesn't show the FC screen just won't open and kills the phone radio for a split second (almost like turning on/off airplane mode)... anyone else experience this? and any ideas on how to fix it?

other dialer applications work (like dialerone or adialer) and the contacts open fine, just the stock dialer that seems to be having issues when i change DPI

Edit: absolutely love the rom... with or without the stock dialer working

Hey guys, I just flashed and I'm having a bit of a problem.

I was on 1.3.1 before, so I didn't wipe data or cache. I just flashed over. I have a custom boot animation by WJDDesigns installed, and I don't think it liked that very much. The first two times I tried to boot (after a battery pull) it froze up after the animation, when the lockscreen should have come up. The second time I got a blank screen and a FC. Now however, it is booting, and I just got to the lockscreen.

Not sure if this effected things or not. Maybe I just needed to wait longer. But if you have a different boot animation installed, maybe you need to get rid of it.

Restore Moto Blur Messaging... Option 1 in tool box, then 5 (or whichever one is messaging) then option 2. Should fix your problems... did mine.

What's the easiest way to change bootanimation?

Replace the bootanimation.zip file in System/Media with the one of your choice.

However, someone in another forum posted that they got the boot sound to work by putting the bootanimation file in Data/Local instead. Scratch this, it's more complicated than this.

Toolbox woes

I just installed Apex 1.4.0 and was playing around in the Toolbox. I used to option to Remove Data Throttling, it rebooted my phone to brick status. Stuck at the Boot Logo. I am downloading 2.3.340 SBF now.

I just wanted to give a heads up to everyone!

What's the easiest way to change bootanimation?

you can move your bootanimation.zip to /data/local via root explorer but in my experience it has caused minor issues (for me, it was all stretched out). the way i always do it is through adb. put the bootanimation.zip in the tools directory (mine is c:\sdk\tools) navigate to it in command prompt and then type:

adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local

or put the bootanimation.zip on the root of your sd card, open terminal emulator and type:

cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/

i suppose "easy" is a relative term...

oh, and as far as getting sound to play, the mp3 file that is in the desc.txt (in this case it is called apex.mp3) has to be in /system/media

under settings when trying to add a corporate email account, once the account is added, there appears to be no way to access it. If you select email it has no recognition of the corporate account that was added under my accounts and thus prompts you to reconfigure the same account


Other then that, flawless rom....

There's really no way around this. The dialer app just does not work when the density is changed.

Fortunately, I believe a very small percentage of users actually do change the density. Unfortunately for those who do, they're kind of out of luck

I'm very sorry to hear about this. This must have been the result of a corrupt download of the services.jar file. I had no such issue when testing the toolbox.

I'm going to add in md5sum checks to the toolbox to prevent this in the future.

Just wanted to confirm what fab said here, once blur messaging suite is in place it works perfect.
