[ROM] [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

Im having trouble updating the tool box. I've run "updateb" but it comes back as not found. Any help would be great. I'm also still getting force closes on boot and at other random times. I did a complete wipe before install. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advanced for any help.

If anyone cares, I combined my install-recovery.sh file from /system/etc/ to include the bootup settings that jrummy's overclock app sets with the new cron settings from the updated toolbox.

Everything looks to be running good.

On that note, I answered my previous question.

If you install the cron job tweak that fab added to the toolbox, you loose your overclocking on boot settings. If you then go add your overclocking on boot settings via jrummy's app, you lose the cron job settings.

Therefore, I made copies of each install-recovery.sh file and took the parts needed for both aspects and combined them together into my new "super" install-recovery.sh file.

If anyone needs help with this, I'll be glad to assist. My only fear is that further tweaking in the oc app will require this to be done again. Not terrible, just a bit of a pain..

Does anyone know if an install-recovery script file can do a sort of "include" so that it could just load settings from another script? If so, maybe that could be the new route for apps to use. Just append to the script to include external config files.

What are the Cron job settings? I've never heard of that one.

Fab just added the update to the toolbox, with option 4, you can install "Marius's Cron script" It basically allows you to set you memory settings more aggresively(done automatically if you install the tweak) because at 1am your phone will flush out unneeded memory.
FabDroid

If you are too aggressive with memory settings, eventually your apps will run out of available memory, forcing you to reboot in order to get the snappy feeling back to your phone. This new cron job will do affectively what a reboot would do for your memory.

Fab, is there a major difference between 1.4 official and RC 2? I've been on rc2 for a few days now with zero issues. Battery life is amazing. Using jrummy overclock. Set to ulv and 1.15 max. Phones running great.

The command is "updatetb" not "updateb". Give that a try. Worked fine for me.

Flashed and all of my apps were missing in the market. First time that has happened but i had titanium. Running strong so far.

Sorry to hear about this. The easiest way would be to charge the battery with a standalone charger or borrow a friend's working DX to charge your battery with.

Plower, ty for the combined install-recovery.sh file. I was actually going to have the option to append Marius's script to the configuration file made by Jrummy the same way the 'fix startup script' option works, but ran out of time last night. I'll update the toolbox to be able to do that tonight.

Fab...enjoy a few beers on me. I wish I could do more with all the help you give to us. I love 1.4...quick question...anyway of installing wycontacts or make it an option in the toolbox like Liberty does? Thanks again.

Bump on this one. APEX is an awesome ROM. I just don't like the way the links work in blur contacts between my contacts and Facebook.

Sweet, if you need any help, let me know.

For some reason when I try to calibrate my quickclock on 1.4.0 it just keeps testing at lower and lower voltages and never gets to the low stress point. I'm talking like -160 vsel before I stop it, anyone wanna try and speculate? Btw, I love the rom, the transitions, and the toolbox. Thanks Fabolous for apeX!

This happened to me too. Well, sort off, all my apps showed up at first (when I first installed Apex) and they installed to the phone too, but after a few reboots they wouldn't show up as installed even though they are on the phone. I think I'll just have to reinstall the apps again using the web market before I try to reflash Apex.

Hey Fab I just looked back and the percentages for the battery in the notification bar and the widget grouper was in the Goodies pack for 1.3.0 is there anyway we can bring that back for 1.4 ?
