[ROM] [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

Fab...enjoy a few beers on me. I wish I could do more with all the help you give to us. I love 1.4...quick question...anyway of installing wycontacts or make it an option in the toolbox like Liberty does? Thanks again.

So I have only one request! How can I get the circular battery notification back? I had the one with multiple color circular notification and now I have the stock.

So when I tried to fix permissions in J Rummy's overclock app, my phone rebooted and went into boot loop. When I plug phone into charger, I get a battery icon with a question mark. When I hold the power button it sends me into bootloop again. I'm able to access stock recovery and have wiped both data and cache with no help. When booting into bootloader, it will not program due to not enough battery. How do I charge my battery so that I may flash SBF? Please help!!!

Fab I wanted to say great work with the update I dont have any FCs yet (knock on wood) and everything is running smoothly so far.....my question is how do you get the percent number back on the Battery meter...I dont remember if it was in the goodies pack or not for 1.3.1 but I would like to reinstate that. Let me know and thanks again

Note: i'm on a D2 but didn't see a posting in our forum, lol

Just a quick question, when I change my DPI from stock the dialer dies... doesn't show the FC screen just won't open and kills the phone radio for a split second (almost like turning on/off airplane mode)... anyone else experience this? and any ideas on how to fix it?

other dialer applications work (like dialerone or adialer) and the contacts open fine, just the stock dialer that seems to be having issues when i change DPI

Edit: absolutely love the rom... with or without the stock dialer working :D

I used dialer one for a while. Ended up just using the previous blurdialer.apk. Read some thread a while back about this error because of the t9 prediction or some new feature. Replaced the blur dialer and no more dpi issues!

Okay.. I am on 1.3.1 and it is running perfect. I understand my photogallery is a blur app as is the phone diaper. What else? I want to jumpp to 1.4 but I think I need to understand the blur issue a bit first and.the toolbox usage so I don't screw things up too badly...lol

Any help would be much appreciated.

You will have to find a charger or find the post on how to jump start your phone I know you have to cut a usb and do so crazy stuff ! I would go to best buy and buy a standup charger or find a friend. Sorry

Great ROM Fab! I installed it last night but, I had an issue with email. Couldn't see my corporate email or other gmail accounts for that matter. I'm sure there is a fix for this but I'm still very new at this. Had to go back to 1.3.1 which is still a sick ROM. If there is stuff on your wiki let me know so I can check it out. Thank you again Bro. Good morning to all my fellow Rooted DXers...

New cron script in toolbox

Hey Fab,

Can you explain a bit of what that new script will do?

It says that it'll remove my overclock settings at boot, but does that mean it'll remove them just one time, or every time the cron job runs??

I don't know how jrummy's overclock app works, if it just appends to an existing config file, or if it destroys the current file to replace it with its own, so I'd wonder if running the cron job will kill overclock, then running overclock will kill cron.

Thanks...

Overclock with new cron script

If anyone cares, I combined my install-recovery.sh file from /system/etc/ to include the bootup settings that jrummy's overclock app sets with the new cron settings from the updated toolbox.

Everything looks to be running good.

On that note, I answered my previous question.

If you install the cron job tweak that fab added to the toolbox, you loose your overclocking on boot settings. If you then go add your overclocking on boot settings via jrummy's app, you lose the cron job settings.

Therefore, I made copies of each install-recovery.sh file and took the parts needed for both aspects and combined them together into my new "super" install-recovery.sh file.

If anyone needs help with this, I'll be glad to assist. My only fear is that further tweaking in the oc app will require this to be done again. Not terrible, just a bit of a pain..

Does anyone know if an install-recovery script file can do a sort of "include" so that it could just load settings from another script? If so, maybe that could be the new route for apps to use. Just append to the script to include external config files.
