[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

I didn't want to ask this on rootz, but does anyone (redflea, jbird, rev) have the current working/not working list going?

Is the camera still blurry? I wish I had time to check it out, but cant flash until the month is up.

Oh, also did they get the newest build.props from Cm put in yet?

Thanks guys.

:reddroid:Yes Hello , did any1 have any trouble w/ build 13's screen rotation, mine will only sit sideways , unless I check non rotate in options.!:reddroid:

You need to find the default orientation option and change it to portrait. I'm not on CM7 right now so you will need to find it. I believe the option is called homescreen default orientation.

Is there anyway to do a complete wipe, reinstall cm7 and then do some magic trick that resets up my config? Droid 2 oc settings, adwex desktop and theme? Maybe a way to build a script that does all my personal customizations that I would do after a wipe?

You can save restore settings in ADW.

You can use Titanium Backup to save restore applications and their data, it's in the market, also My Backup Pro, and others.

What about gingerbread then? Does it come with a new kernel or does it use the froyo kernel?

GB has its own kernel.

Then two things. If the gingerbread uses a different kernel than froyo, how is it able to get past the locked bootloader? And why dont they base CM4 off of gingerbread?

1) The GB leak has it's own kernel, but we're able to load it because it is a leak of the official release. This leak must include in it the encryption code that "unlocks" the bootloader to load the new operating system. A "locked" bootloader simply means that access to it is encrypted.

2) CM IS based off of GB. CM4D2 is not based off of the GB kernel, it is still based off the GB Operating System though. (There is a video somewhere that CVPCS posted about how he went about doing this)

We need to try to use the gb kernal instead of froyo because the gb kernal is A LOT better on battery and alot faster

Great work on this rom so far to everyone involved, it's way more stable than my original verizon OS was. That said, i'm having a few quirks i could use help with:
- no keyboard backlight
- no soft key lights*
- notification LED scrolls through all colors, rather than just blinking the one desired color**

*after flashing to cm7 for d2, the soft key lights were stuck on even with screen off. Playing around in settings with auto brightness and cm7s settings made them work as intended momentarily, but now they're off no matter how dark the room.
** tried setting led color in both handcent and cm7's interface/led "groupings" with no luck. Cleared all, made app groups, etc. Pressing the "test notification" just makes it scroll through all colors. Boxes for Succession, Sequential, etc are all unchecked.
