[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

You're back to 2.3.20, right?

It's VERY simple from there:

1. Get copy of latest (Build 19) CM4D2 from CM4D2 unnoficial nightly links
2. Get copy of Gaaps (6/13 version) from http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip
3. Put 1 and 2 above on your SD card
4. Load D2 Bootstrapper and bootstrap and then launch CW Recovery
5. Wipe data/factory reset
6. Wipe System (and you can wipe Dalvik Cache and Batter Stats as well)
7. Use Install zip from SD card to flash CM build 19
8. Use install zip from SD card to install Gaaps

Reboot. You're good.

While running the CM4D2 ROM NEVER install or use D2 Bootstrapper, if you do you will bootloop and have to SBF. Only use D2 Boostrapper while running stock Froyo to get into Recovery to flash CM4D2.

I have those steps covered, thanks! When you say "Wipe System" does that mean wipe cache partition?

Yup - you mentioned Root in your own post so I didn't repeat it. W/out Root, you can't do anything. :)

Anyone else's touch screen go crazy when plugged into the charger on build 19? I am only touching with one finger, but it's as if there are touches all over the screen. When I take it off the charger, problem goes away

I've seen that on the D1 and D2 w/specific chargers, goes away when I stop using that charger.

Very strange! This is a new charger we got this weekend while our of town for my wives black berry. Sure enough I plugged into a different charger and no crazy touch events! Thanks Red!

Do I wipe Cache Partition and mount system as well?

If on froyo, boot into cw, wipe data, cache and dalvik. Mount system and install. Then install gapps. Reboot. Done

So if I flash this and decide I don't like it how do I restore a backup if I can't use bootstrap?

You can still get into cw. You just don't use bootstrap. There is an option to reboot into recovery. It's the same clockwork as before ;)

Hey there..um..you have to rename the file update.zip?

Are you coming from gb and using the all in one installer or are you already on froyo? If on gb and using the all in one, yes. That's how I did it. If on froyo, then no.

You can still use my instructions to get to CM7 while you're on the leaked GB running Liberty GB ROM.

OK so erase the update zip if you have one on the sd. Rename the cm to update zip and put it on the root of the sd. Boot into cw. Format system, data and cache (in advanced). Mount system after (mounts/storage). Install update.zip (not install zip from sd)
You may get a radio error. It's okay. Ignore it. Now install google apps zip and reboot
