[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

Use any root file manager (root explorer). You can probably use any file manager. Just long press on the renamed file. Click move and back out of the folder until you're on the root of the sd (/). Then hit move and it will move

Are you coming from gb and using the all in one installer or are you already on froyo? If on gb and using the all in one, yes. That's how I did it. If on froyo, then no.

Update:

I originally installed CM7 (coming from LGB 0.9) using the all-in-one method and had a bunch of problems which I highlighted in some previous posts. Not sure what the root of the problem was, if I made a mistake or if something just didn't click between where I was and where I was headed. Eventually I bricked and had to SBF using RSD lite. I did that, regrouped and re-flashed my way back to CM7 build #19 and everything seems to be working really well. Fast, smooth and no glitches as of yet.

Just thought I would post this in case it might help anybody getting ready to make the move:)

Good to hear!

Droid 2 CM7 - build19

Glad the sbf worked. I had a feeling it would. So happy you got it sorted. I just talked droid2drummer through the install over the phone. Let's hope he makes it over with no issues! I'm going to bed. Nite everyone.

OK, still having several problems. I don't know what I am doing wrong but I can't seem to get this ROM to function correctly.

Currently a few issues that I have noticed are,

First, my lock screen looks like a pattern lock but I can swipe it any way and it will unlock. I did not choose a pattern lock, this just happened.

Second, I can not choose notification tones for text messages, I get some sort of error message about, "process has stopped unexpectedly"

Third, camera will not work. I get the same, "process has stopped unexpectedly" message.

Can't find any video icon, not sure how to shoot video.

Maybe I am using the wrong launcher? I am currently using Launcher Pro, is this a problem? If so, how do I fix?

I am at a loss.
When installing 19, did you wipe cache and dalvik? I didn't wipe data and I did mount system before installing.
As for the lock screen, check cm settings/lockscreen to see if you have something enabled that you don't want. As far as the other stuff, I'm unsure. I have none of these issues. I'm sure a new nightly will be up by morning. Let's hope that fixes some stuff for you

I wiped everything including data as I was going directly from stock (just SBFd).

I did not toggle mount/system.

I don't have a clue, not sure what else to do?

I did the same thing to my brother's d2 yesterday, exactly like you just did (I DID mount system though), and it's working great. I wish I could help more. :(

I appreciate all the help you have given me, thanks!

Not sure what to do at this point, I wonder if the fact that I was on CM7 before has something to do with all these issues? I can't imagine how because, as I understand it, I completely reset my phone back to stock when I SBFd using RSD lite.

I really don't want to think about SBFing yet again, I guess I have to go back to LGB 0.9 and deal with the reboots, ect:-(
