[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

Yeah...

Instead of wiping cache partition and dalvik cache, you should wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and then wipe dalvik cache this time.

CM7... it's what James Bond never had.

Once I do this is there a 'correct way' to restore my apps/data? I have a Ti backup as well as google backup. When I do both it appears to try to re-install some of them twice and now I have some that have ended up on the SD card somehow.

That didn't go so well either. It looked like everything was working normally, booted up and went through the whole, touch droid, sign in to google, ect. and now the screen is just black aside from the top bar which shows a little cyanogen icon and the 3g status, battery status, ect. Holding the power button does nothing so I can't reboot into recovery either.

This is madness! I have to say, I have nothing else to offer. It doesn't make sense. I would try liquid or get back on the gb leak.
I mean, you installed it just like I did. I don't know what the deal is.

Try to get into stock recovery by holding X on the keyboard and the power button while booting up. then press the search button on the keyboard when the android with the "!" shows up. Wipe data/factory reset again from in there.

If that doesn't work, looks like it's time to sbf.

I was able to get into clockwork recovery by going into factory recovery, wiping everything and rebooting. Once it rebooted back to the 'touch android to begin screen' I did and on the next screen, held the power button which brought up the CM7 option of 'reboot recovery' so at least I didn't have SBF yet again.

I am going to try getting onto build 20 one more time following the steps highlighted a few posts back. If that doesn't work I guess I will go back to LGB for awhile.

When you get CM7 back on it, don't restore your apps through Titanium Backup. This seems to be causing issues with everyone.

Also, look through your app list and make sure they are all verified working with GB. It sounds like it started after restoring your apps, which makes me think an app is the root cause. If there is anything that is known to have issues with GB, uninstall it after the sbf so they don't restore when you install CM7.

If you do find that a specific app is causing the problems, please post it so that we all know for the future. It will let everyone else know not to get that app (unless a fix is found) and it will help us troubleshoot for others that get in a similar situation.

OK, back up and running on build 20. Things appear to be working. Camera works and no FCs. I have not yet started backing up with titanium backup and have not tried launcher pro. I'm afraid to mess with anything right now:icon_eek:

I feel like I am unnecessarily clogging up this thread, should I be posting my issues elsewhere?

I used titanium backup to restore but I always just restore the app, not the data. Never had an issue.
I'm happy to hear, you're up and running again! You're not clogging up the thread imo. That's the point of these forums. To help and get help. Good luck!
