[ROM] [ROM] Droid Concepts Froyo Releases [BETA versions]

Also as a reminder, you should install in this order:
> ROM
> Google Apps
> Optional Apps/Kernel

Explanation if you care to read:
When you install the ROM it will wipe your /system and kernel from the phone so if you install Google Apps or the kernel first you will lose it when you install the ROM. So because of this the ROM must be first. Google Apps is listed as second because you need them if you regular release type of android build, without them you will not have the market to download and install apps, so because it is a 'must' it is listed as second. The kernel/Optional Apps is an addition, and therefore is listed last, so please follow this order when installing any Droid Concepts ROM.
Thank You.. :)

:) soon as i get loadin up ...... get where u ask ... home of course lol

Build 06 is up
So far, looking great. As you expected, auto-brightness has returned. Also, I've rebooted into recovery maybe 5 times now on build 6 without it once skipping the boot logo and recovery, booting straight to my boot animation. With builds 4 and 5, it quite often skipped recovery, even doing so just before flashing build 6. Hopefully, that was related to the error you noted and won't return!

I still have noted a couple of things:

In rebooting to recovery so many times, I noticed the Reboot options' 2nd button is now "Reboot Recovery," so it sort of grabs my attention taking 2 lines. In SD7, it was simply "Recovery," and the other 2 buttons, 'OK' and 'Cancel'. I hate admitting that bothers me, as I do not consider myself OCD, despite having some... preferences. :D

This is just a question, no expectations. Before I flashed an HTC-themed settings, I noticed the Search options were not present on this rom. I am aware that link is for D2 theme, but I would swear I read somewhere it was identical to what he, Motoboy/AngDroid, did for the D1. I checked previous screen captures I made before and after flashing this over SD7 and the Search was there in both cases. Does this mean the settings.apk on this rom is newer/different than FRG22? I haven't kept up with the latest versions of Android since I installed SD7. I know my wife's phone has FRG22D, but I know many roms are a mix of parts of froyo/gingerbread/etc that the FR code is almost meaningless. It's difficult to associate android settings or apps with specific builds.

Thanks for all your hard work and good luck with finals!

I can confirm that this will run ChevyNo1's 3/24 stickied Froyo/Gb kernels. I'm using 1GHz LV with working wifi, though I haven't verified tethering.

Yeah the reboot options have been changed, I changed it to reboot recovery for that reason actually, I wanted it to stick out, but its always possible it will be go back to just recovery. lol. Search was not included in the AOSP Settings app, I pulled the froyo branch of Settings, then uploaded to github then made my changes, so It was not me that removed it. I will look into adding back in. I never really used that option so I didn't notice until I added the HTC theme to the settings app earlier today. I will check out some other branches of the setting app though and see about adding it, thats not a hard thing to do, and thank you. :)

Well its rough but I do what I can, today is my night doing android related work for the week, other then minor things, I will do some here and there to take study breaks, but for the most part I'm done tonight

Good work woody! man you just keep pumping these out!

lol, trying to man, doing the best I can on limited time and resources

Awesome job man. I have no idea how you'd do it while trying to prepare for finals. And again, nicely done at that.

Awesome, glad to here back some feedback on other kernels, once tether is verified by either you or someone else I will link to the kernels in ChevyNo1's forum. :)

I can confirm wireless tether working same chevyno1 kernel 1.25lv. Also for those missing dictionary and auto correct if you switch keyboards they come back.

wireless tether is also working with P3Droid 250/1250 LV

Ok well on my study break I just looked and I found this,
https://github.com/android/platform...mmit/50c529220a8af165df92f4aa6a52c3eec60282ee

basically this is saying that they removed the serch option from settings because they moved the search options into the search app itself, I bet this was done because the search app was always included from the manufacture, but now it is available in the market, so they moved it to the app so its always there, this way its not codependent on whether or not it is listed in the users settings app from their manufacture. if that makes sense, and because I now know that its in the search app I will more than likely not bring the search option back into the stock settings app just as a heads up.

just loaded build #6, and a test run of my new theme, all is working well! great job woody!

just curious, in the future will there be the option to change notification colors perhaps in your dc settings apk? not a big deal just wondering because the green text doesnt jive with my theme lol and ive never modded a services.jar before

I must be missing something... I cannot for the life of me find additional, rom-only settings...

One thing I depend on is locking my messaging app in memory and I cannot find this anywhere! Is there not a rom specific settings app, or am i losing it?
