Torch is a flashlight and Backlight is... Well, self explanatory I think

Droid 2 Liberty GB v0.8

That doesn't explain anything, but thanks for trying...

Anyone else know what switching Torch to Backlight changes on the phone? I tried changing it, and didn't notice anything different.

If you hit torch, you're flashlight will turn on (uses the camera flash), hopefully your flash turns on.
Backlight doesn't work on my d2, but it should turn the Backlight (key lights) on or off. It may be a bug.
I'm not sure what you're not getting.
No, your phone isn't really a torch. ;)

I hooked my wife's d2 up today with v.8 and after I went through the liberty customizer and rebooted there was no cell service. I was not even able to go into the call settings menu. For a minute I was a little worried, but then i just flashed the ROM again with no wipe and everything was good again. Has anybody else ever come across this before or was it just a freak incident?

I actually did out of the blue yesterday. I've been on liberty gb for a while now, but all of a sudden my 3g disappeared. I narrowed it down to juice defender ultimate. It usually turned data off when the phone is off, but it seemed to have been keeping it off 100% of the time. I ditched it, and all is well

is there somewhere that explains (or shows) the difference between a lot of these AOSP and Blur apps? I have no clue which ones to go with...

also, something showing the different launchers, or explaining the differences between them would be helpful.

Still running 2.01 android 2.2.1, do I need to reflash with the stock gingerbread or can I do a direct upgrade? BTW Supported Liberty Toolbox Pro :) You guys rock

Happy to help!

Droid 2 Liberty GB v0.8-Gingercomb Juiced

still getting rather poor battery life compared to fission 2.6.1 barely managed 12 hours on rather light use, less than ten minutes of phone calls and minor txting/web browsing. I have the phone under clocked to 0.3ghz when the screen is off and it still doesn't seem to alter the battery life

You have to flash to 2.3.2 SBF: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Then re-root your phone: How to: Root the DROID X or DROID 2 Using z4root 1.3.0 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Then follow these directions to upgrade to the pre-rooted version of Gingerbread for the Droid 2 (also gives you directions on how to SBF using RSDlite, if you've never done it): Droid 2 Gingerbread (2.3.3) - Release - PreRooted

THEN you can download and install Liberty GB v0.8

Enjoy!

So I cannot get into recovery mode, any help? Phone has been rooted (both clock work and liberty toolbox have root permissions in the super user program)

i have all the options to get into recovery etc but when it restarts it just goes to the normal stock droid logo (moto logo combo)

Ok, I've searched this forum and found nothing, so please forgive me if this has already been addressed.

I just wiped and installed Liberty GB nightly v.08 and am having one problem. Even after going thru the Customizer (several times) and adding several accounts (Facebook, LastFM, Flickr, etc) and rebooted, NONE of them show up under Settings...Accounts...Add Account.

Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a fix?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I also tried fixing permissions, but it didn't fix it

EDIT2: Also, I checked under /system/app and I see blur_facebook.apk, blur_flickr.apk, etc listed, but they just do not show up in Settings...Accounts...Add Account

Might be a stupid question, but did you go into Droid 2 Bootstrapper and tap Bootstrap Recovery, then tap Reboot Recovery?

If yes, then when you hit Bootstrap Recovery, does a toast appear at the bottom saying "Droid 2 bootstrapper has been granted Superuser permissions?"

I've noticed a few preferences I've changed (Boot logo, animations, pulldown text editor, etc.) that didn't take place when I rebooted. I've resorted to making changes one at a time. Even then, it's spotty. Don't know if there is a limitation in the cache within Android on how many things you can tell it to change at boot.

for some odd reason that didn't get permissions. You are the Man or Woman (Gotta keep it equal opportunity people)! Installing right now :)
