I was using the rotting apple boot animation from bb 0.4. I used terminal emulator to add that. Has anyone had any luck doing that w/ this ROM? I still have bootanimation.zip on my sd card and tried to load that w/ terminal emulator but wasn't able to.
Oh weird. What Chevy kernels did you try? Where were you downloading them from? I'm trying to think of what else could be causing the bootloop issue. As far as I know, most people don't have any issues installing Chevy's kernels on Lithium Mod unless their phone can't handle a specific speed.
For me personally, I never get any Chevy kernels to run right on my phone. Most cause bootloops or run insanely hot for some reason.
It's so weird to hear multiple people saying they have issues with Chevy's kernels. I know they were causing bootloops several weeks ago, but I thought that it had been resolved. I installed my chevy kernel the day he released the updated ones and haven't had any problems since. I haven't had overheating problems either. In fact, my phone has been running remarkably cool since installing it.
It's crazy to think that some phones can handle certain things and some can't, even if they're the exact same phone.
I'd get rid of the P3 kernel and use one of Chevy's kernels. I'm using his 7-slot 1.2 ghz ulv kernel right now and it's awesome. I use Autokiller set to a custom preset (set right between moderate and optimum). My setcpu profiles look like this:
Screen off: Priority 97, 550/400 - ondemand
Charging/Full: Priority 96, 800/550 - ondemand
Battery < 21%: Priority 95, 400/400 - conservative
Battery < 41%: Priority 94, 550/400 - conservative
Battery < 100%: Priority 93, 1000/550 - ondemand
I also have my brightness set to low, not quite the lowest, but pretty low.
I also have CacheMate scheduled to clear cache every 4 hours.
With everything above, I've been getting some crazy good battery life. A few days ago I was slightly keeping track of it, and after 16 hours of pretty frequent use, I was still at 70%. Between texts, emails, browsing the net, and just general use, I still get that kind of battery life.
When I was using P3 prior to Chevy, I was having the same kind of problems. Also, before I switched up to the Evo theme, I was using watermark'd with the same settings for everything that I just listed, and was still getting great battery life. I'd try switching up the kernel. If you go the Chevy's route, you can snag it in Rom Manager.

You can just use Absolute System that comes with the rom. You might want to download the Absolute System that's on the market so that you have the most updated version. But using AS, you can change the bootanimations/fonts/etc without having to use terminal.
if you dl the app, make sure you get Abs Sys Lithmod Edition. frozen Ted is right - Abs Sys will let you do it, and it's very easy.
you can also use LithMod's allinone script from Term Emu. just type: su *enter*, allinone *enter*. then a list of options will come up, and one of them is changing BA. thru Term Emu, you actually can choose from about 50 different BA's. and all you have to do is type in a little number, rather than manually dl'ing a bootanimation.zip to sdcard, then changing it...

See, this is crazy to me. 16 hours of pretty frequent use and you're at 70%?!?
I'm rocking pretty much the same setup (Chevy ULV 800) but I'm clocked on demand at 600-250 (400-250 screen off) and if I get 16 hours out of my entire battery on "pretty frequent usage" it's been a good f**kin' day!
I think either folks exaggerate or I have a shtty battery. My battery gets me through the day just fine with my setup but there's no way I'm sitting at 70% after even 5 hours usage.
And for me "pretty frequent" means two to three phone calls and playing scrabble off and on all day along with some websurfing, twitter and email throughout the day. And this is with no bluetooth, no gps, wifi when available (otherwise off) and lowest display setting.
If my phone is sitting idle then that's another thing but it's rarely idle.

Been using this Rom, Droid X theme, for a while now. Love it. Works flawlessly.. only bug I see is the Ignore and Answer buttons when someone's calling..the Answer button is cut off.
Great work, JRummy. I look forward to your next release..

I don't use Rom manager. Tried it. Hated it. Uninstalled it.Been using this Rom, Droid X theme, for a while now. Love it. Works flawlessly.. only bug I see is the Ignore and Answer buttons when someone's calling..the Answer button is cut off.

i beleave theirs a fix for that in rom manager
I posted this a few pages ago but will give it one more shot.
I have read several posts about the extended battery life that LithMod provides. I have found the exact opposite to be the case. A collegue of mine switched to saphire from lithmod because he, too, experienced a big battery drain with LithMod using a totally different theme than me (he was using Gala, I am using Watermark'D). Here is what I am using:
Kernel: P3 LV 250-1Ghz
Set CPU: profile
Default 600M-1Ghz ondemand
Temp>50 100, 250-250 ondemand
Bat<25% 85 500-125 ondemand
Screen off 80 800-400 ondemand
Charging USB 61 800-400 ondemand
Charging full 56 900-250 ondemand
I am also using Auto Memory Manager configured a bit above the "mild" setting (which I am considering axing)
Any suggestions? Are there any logs that I can look at to show me what is draining the battery? How is your battery life, and what profile settings do you use for set CPU? What kernel are you using? I would appreciate any guidance you can offer.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people exaggerate their battery life, but I can assure that I certainly am not. Maybe try upping your 250 min to 400. I've been wondering if having setcpu set to the lowest your kernel can go is actually bad. I had mine set up at 250 min when I first put lith mod on my phone, but ended up changing to 400 and min. It's been great for me ever since.
What kind of profiles do you have in setcpu? Do you have the priorities set correctly? (stupid question I know, but some people get the settings confused.)
In regards to the frequency of use, I probably call/receive 2 to 4 total calls per day and talk for 10 minutes at the very most. Otherwise, I'm using it to check fantasy teams, play world war each hour, and so on. After 5 hours of use, my phone might be 90. Oh sht, I also listen to podcasts on my phone every night at work for a couple of hours and that might take 10-15% of my battery at the most.
I don't think you have a bad battery. When I first installed Lith Mod, I was using a P3 kernel, 800 mhz I believe, and my battery was lasting about as long as what yours is. As soon as I installed the Chevy kernel, my battery lasted all day.

I'm set pretty well (I think). Here's what I got:
Screen Off Priority: 93, 400-200
Temp>50 C, Priority 92 500-250
Charging AC/Full, Priority 90 800-250
Battery <15%, Priority 70 550-250
One thing I just realized is that I wasn't running the latests baseband. I never updated because some people were reporting issues with it a few months back. Sine it's official from Verizon now I figured I'd give it a shot and see if it changes anything...
I'm not sure how AutoKiller works and haven't tried it. I've stayed away from task killers recently especially after reading how Android handles memory.
