[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11

So I tried that other "rom" for a day and flashed back to liberty and now liberty tools 1.0.3 wont run. Complains about the rom not being liberty. What gives? Did jrummy put in some sort of secret check? But I am on liberty! I'm sorry! I'm back I swear!

First thing I would try, is wiping data/cache for liberty toolbox (Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> Liberty Toolbox>
force stop, clear cache, clear data
then try again.

If that doesn't work, then you may have to wipe cache/data. And that's what you get for using stolen work! hehe

this is to kejar31 and jrummy16, im not done yet but im compiling a few different animation combinations and just thought that if you guys had the time you could use them as an option so instead of just having fancy and stock there could be option 1 option 2 etc. for anyone else interested pm me

I am running the Liberty Rom and I can not download anything from the market. I have tried a few different things and none of them ever download, it just says starting download and then times out. It also doesn't matter if I am on wifi or using the 3g service. I have seen this question asked a few times in this thread but never saw anyone post a solution

I had same problem. From homescreen: Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Market > Clear Cache

That fixed it for me.

I do not have a clear cache in my applications/manage applications/all. I do have one in the Liberty settings that will clear it on reboot.


Edit: I found it but its still doing the same thing

In market, if you go to Menu> My Apps...
Is there a huge list that shows as downloading?
It's possible that it's syncing from a new install? If so, you wouldn't want to mess with that, let it reinstall your apps.

BUT, if just out of the blue, it stopped downloading, a few things to check.
Make sure you haven't removed or renamed the default browser... Market uses it.
Probably something simple like that.. (?).

(If it's the browser that's been removed/renamed.. send a PM to JRummy telling him the option to remove it in toolbox is a BAD idea... other apps require the stock browser...

yea those are the animations im using but im customizing each individual animation like right now im working on fold but im changing when and where and how each animation is used so my version of fold is completely rearranged. im also going to write an explination on which animations can be used in which places to help others create their own. i searched for days and couldnt find a guide so im testing and making now

Anyone know what happened to the voicemail app? I can't seem to find it on the app list and when I tried to install visual voicemail it said the system already had one. Thoughts?

No problem. If you still have issues, did you wipe data and cache prior to installing the ROM? I know that my battery life on Liberty is great, so there are two broad causes, hardware or software. Since this is a new phone, it could possibly be hardware. Most likely, it is not hardware, but you may have a bad battery. I think it might be an application, try to double check in the battery usage app.

Here are my next steps if you still have bad battery life:
1) Reinstall Liberty without wiping data or cache. This just has you install the zip file from the SD card in Clockwork Recovery.
2) If battery issues continue, backup what you would like, and wipe /system, /data, and /cache, then reinstall Liberty again.
2a) Now, since you wiped cache, you may have lower battery due to the rebuilding of cache. Feel free to restore apps, but try to keep in mind what you are installing, an application might be causing the issue.
2b) Keep the phone plugged in until it is at 100% and then wait a few hours before unplugging. The first battery cycle might be a little fast, due to the new apps pulling data, cache being written, etc.

Just did a reinstall of liberty. I wiped system, cache etc. and reinstalled. Before reinstalling battery was very low. 20% or so. After reinstall its showing a 50%. Weird.

Planning on charging for a few hours per your suggestion. Thanks again.

Well......I have to brag and give kudos! I'm running Liberty, is my first ROM and I gotta say I just love it! Mikeyinid spent oodles of time today helping me backup and flash my first rom.....and so far it's awesome! Still gotta tweak it the way I like it, but I'm using the Pink theme and it's fun!! This forum is fantastic! You guys all rock!!!

Very very nice.
Only other suggestion I have... is once complete.. if you make examples, or samples, or whatever to show people what they look like.. make .gif's, not youtube videos. hehe

If you look in /system/build.prop, there is a line that says:
ro.HorizontalVVM=true

If you remount /system as RW, then change that line in the file to false, then remount as RO again... followed by a reboot, it will let you install from the market.

Why can't I overclock this rom. I had TranQ before this, and it was oc'd to 1300, now every since I installed this, I can't overclock at all using droid overclock, by jrummy.

This is my first ROM and I love it!! Wondered about a couple of things.
First does anybody know where I can find the motorola widgets for airplane mode/wifi/gps. And also the visual voicemail app that was on the stock droid 2 rom. The verizon one in the market kinda sucks.
