[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11

The Toolbox was edited not to work with other roms? Seems pretty ridiculous to me considering they edit the boot logo which can't be changed by flashing another rom or a .sbf and the easiest way to change it if you forget is just to download the toolbox

Exclusivity. Devs work hard on apps to set their work apart from the crowd. A lot of times they do it for free. Its nice for them to be able to maintain credit and rights to their work.

True, but the majority of the things in the Toolbox are not original work. The Toolbox itself is a very powerful tool and many of it's features can be used rom to rom so it's a shame to see it go.

True. when I switched to rubiX for several hours, it was frustrating that I couldn't use Liberty toolbox

I installed liberty last night and I love it!! Only issue is i dont see the option for Direct dialing, under short cuts. Any idea how to get it? I want to create the one touch dialing for the home screen,.

During the install process, I see that it was formatting.

Prior to that, I did do a wipe on the phone using Liberty Toolbox. Now the phone is blank. Now the phone is off.

Err....help?'

Battery died, recharging it now.

Once the battery comes back, if you can get back in to clockwork recovery, you should be safe. Otherwise, you sir, get to sbf :)

I know what SOL means, so what's SBF?

Ok, the phone came back on and is on the clockwork recovery mode, what do I do? reinstall or just reboot?

Update:

I did a reinstall, rebooted and went back to recovery mode. Did a restart and now it's on the Liberty logo, with the eagle doing the loop.

Am i the only one that doesnt have a rotating Liberty Logo as a boot animation? I Sbf and i had it.... and i sbf again and now i dont ... hmm

It's a data/cache issue.
You DID follow the "Install" instructions in the first post, which state that you need to wipe data/cache before installing the ROM, right?
If not, then that's the cause of your issues.

Also, if you wipe data/cache after you install the ROM, be sure you REinstall the ROM again.. because the ROM does put some stuff to /data.

HTH!

Is there a way for me to get back to factory default or am I holding a $500 paperweight?

FIRST thing I would try:
--Power off
--Hold the HOME button while you boot. Don't let go of the HOME button until you see the boot logo
--This should take you to the Android recovery menu (lil droid with a ! in a triangle). When you see that screen, hit the SEARCH button on the phone to take you to the menu.
--From the menu, wipe cache, wipe data, reboot.

--Should boot into the ROM.. If it does, then you should go back and reinstall the ROM to get the /data components back, because you wiped /data...

HTH!

That worked! Thank you very much for that tip. Really appreciated.

As per your instructions:

I've wiped the data/cache and rebooted, I was able to get in to the Liberty ROM.

I rebooted into Recovery mode, wiped data, wiped cache and reinstalled the Liberty.zip, rebooted and I was able to get into the ROM with no issues.

Kudos to you!

I'm sure this has been discussed but there are just a few issues I'm having...1 sometimes my phone will go to sleep and have to do a battery pull to get it to wake 2 no a2dp support. 3 when on a call if the screen is dark you can not adjust the volume at all. Screen has to be active. And then a question. Is there a way for me to set the screen off when I'm on a call more sensitive? I have hung up on several people due to the screen coming on when holding with my shoulder lol. Other than that fabulous job y'all
