Speaking of overclocking does no one want to put that in their roms? Couldn't download this to my phone used my computer and everything is working great been using this for about 16hrs no hiccups! Will be donating soon just wish we had some overclocking going on so I would have to redo it everytime a new rom comes out!
I assume you are referring to this?
Droid X 2.2 Overclock is here - xda-developers
it could easily be made into an optional package.. but there are a couple problems:
--It's DEF. not for everyone. OC'ing can have SERIOUS side effects on the longevity of hardware, usually via heat, etc. It also directly affects stability, etc., which makes it a NIGHTMARE to try to support a ROM.
--Settings vary from device to device. One person reports only getting 1.15 at beast, and another 1.22 or so... It needs to be set by hand... so is a HORRIBLE idea to include in a ROM by default (in my opinion)...
If you want to OC, the option is there. Unless you're planning on rendering some video, or do some serious overworking of your CPU on the phone, OC'ing is a waste of time from the results I've seen on our phone.
(Also, I always cringe when people bring out linpack and quadrant to say "but see, it makes my phone faster!". I've seen Droid1's that were laggy as hell, and ran like crap with better quadrants than phones that ran perfectly smooth. Also, if you want a higher quadrant score, just enable stagefright in build.prop. Quadrant will go up around 300-500 points.. your videos won't play, but.. you'll have great quadrant scores!
Sorry for the mini-rant. This is a call to be made by DRod, but this is certainly something that I hope does not make it into a ROM.
Just me?
