[ROM] Zero Blur! Zero Lag! rubiX Focused 1.0

OK - I'm all set up with rubiX. Everything I use seems to be working great. I'm OC'd to 1.3 GHz.

My question (probably due to lack of understanding) concerns the Droid X and how it was supposed to be locked out by Motorola from any custom ROMs. Has this all changed now? I tried keeping up with the news but I must have missed something.

What makes rubiX work when the last I heard the X would be bricked by custom ROMs?

The whole being bricked thing was BS.

But...it is still locked in the fact that you cant load custom kernels....which means all these Droid X ROMs arent actually full ROMs.

well, the thing is, reading other people's description of the same problem helped to validate my decision on switching back so I guess I was trying to do the same thing for other people experiencing my problem. No offense, that's just the way it is.

edit: and also, problems are not absolute across use cases. my job would be alot easier if it were.

Well hope you get it worked out.....or find another setup you enjoy.

The bootloader is still locked. This means no kernels (etc.)...
But the actual system can be formatted and reloaded. This means that system files can be optimized, etc. (and/or replaced, which is the case with some ROMs...)

Got it! Thanks for the replies. Out of curiosity, will there ever be a way around the lock?

Don't think the default music app that comes with Focused has those settings...
But I believe the Blur music.apk file works with this ROM.
The music.apk file supplied for Fission works on Focused... you can give it a try, more info here:
Possible fixes for BLURCamera panorama FC’ing, and Music on LockScreen issues in Focused — sephtin.com

(Note: this is an UNOFFICIAL patch, not supported as part of Focused ROM...)

just applied your unoffical patch. it does apply the lockscreen control but when choosing audio effects it acts like a back button.

its suppose to be settings/sound/adjust media effects. but there is no media effects... ??

in media effects it lets you adjust with a plug in and without a plug.

edit:after searching i came across a post with apks needed and not needed and i see 1 is "Media audio Effects 2.2" so i might try to install that and see what it does

so i got it. it was an audioeffects.apk. i restored my rubix .5, copied it to sd. restoried 1.0 placed in system/apps, set permission. reboot. voila! now i can equalize the sound and skip through ym lockscreen. BALLIN!!

but i do have another quest now. i have switchpro and my screen brightness is 30>50>100. i keep it on 30 most of the time unless i need the brightness. everytime i reboot the phone it seems to automatically set it to 50. any idea?
