Ok I have been looking all over this thread. A friend used the FRG22D.sbf to flash to stock 2.2 for some reason and he gave it to me to root for him. I used this method before on a stock FRG22D Droid before and worked fine. This time it won't work. I see SPRecovery fine and used the update.zip root file and I have the SU icon but it crashes and found it it wasn't rooted at all. I don't get why its not rooting. It won't let me adb in as root either and rootexplorer doesn't work. So no root. Any ideas? I've done this on my phone a few times the same way.

Have you applied the update.zip a second time? If there isn't anything necessary on there You could always wipe data/cache and try it again.
Does it say it failed at all during the update?

I'm a little new to rooting and I want to root my droid badly. I did everything in the instructions but I have two questions. Since I'm not that familiar with unzipping files, I think I might have done it wrong. When I unzipped the update.zip renamed folder, it appeared as a white piece of paper. Secondly, the only thing listed in RSD Lite was in the very first line of the grid. I configured it and that was still the only thing showing, is that the one that was my phone? I thought it was further down or would say something else in the model column

Ok what file are you talking about unzipping?
The sprecovery motocache file? Or the motocache root only file?
The sprecovery file should be a file that is recognized after you unzip it, by RSDLite. You load it after your device has been recognized.
The root only zip file needs to be renamed update.zip and left in the root of your sdcard.

The SPRecovery. And now, I'm trying to put the root only back in the sd card and it's saying there is already a folder with the same name but I'm not seeing it. I'm trying to name it update because it said if it doesn't already have .zip at the end, just name it update
